Soriano on Summer Transfers

With the new valuations on Fernando, I really doubt now that he will be that value for money.

I thought we were getting him for not more than 7m last transfer window.

Id rather stick with Garcia, and have Fofana as fourth choice to be subbed in every now and then.

7m?? I read around 12m

15m pound for one of the best defensive midfielders in world football is great business in my opinion.

Next season we will have Yaya, Fernandinho, Garcia and Fernando in central midfield, only Bayern Munich in my opinion can compete with that.

Didnt someone say porto have agreed to restructure the deals so we get mangala for cheaper as he is part owned and fernando for more so its still cost city the same but porto get more of money because they pay less to third party in mangala side of deal quite a good strategy really.

Mark my words, Fernando will dominate the EPL if given a chance. He's an absolute machine, De Jong on Brazlian flavoured steroids.

In

Sagna Free
Benatia 20m
Fernando 15m
Di Maria 30m
Barkley 30m
Back Up Keeper ....pref one out of contract
Rekik back from loan
Cole Free
Very optimistic valuations
Out

Richards 7m 2m
Rodwell 7m 3m
Sinclair 2m 1m
Pantillimon 5m 2.5m
Lescott free
Giudetti 5m 750k
Clichy 10m 5m
Garcia 8m 4m

Net Spend around 50m
70m +

and I'm not too sure if I've not been a little optimistic

Net spend not important. Our books now have 38m freed up by Barry and Lescott moving on ( and their wages)

Mangala and Fernando would therefore be cost neutral for us. Should be better off with savings in wages.

Richards out and Sagna in..... Cost neutral for us .... May even be better off depending on Transfer fee and wage differences

Pants out new in -cost neutral

Cole in Cliche out - at least cost neutral

We could then lose Garcia, Sinclair, Guidetti (free up wages but neutral in tranfer fees) without needing to replace any of them.

Above scenario means leaner but better squad at no additional accounting costs. The reduction in wages could be significant in freeing up funds for one big signing. (Fabregras would be my choice - HG). if we lost a striker - Which I don't think we should- as a result this would more than cover this signing AND go a long way to cover another (Barkley- cover in Europe on B list so wages not counted if squad is wage capped)

All the above could happen with very little net increase in spending if any.

Our costs remain static but our income continues to rise.... Perfik!

are you Ray Wilkins?

Ooohhhh,so Butch.....

Really not sure how Fernando has turned into a hard-tackling Robinho all of a sudden.

Thinking about it I don't think we need that much of a radical change at all.

Obviously our biggest priority is that we need a top central defender and after that top notch cover in defensive midfield and right back which we look to be doing because it is likely that Fernando and Sagna are becoming City players.

I wouldn't change our attack as it looks balanced as it is and the amount of goals we have scored this season has been immense, personally I think we should be brave and promote Lopes.

We conceeded 37 goals in the league this season, if we can get that down to 27 with an improved defence and better quality in depth throughout central midfield, as long as we score around the same number of goals again next season that should see us win the league.

In regards to Europe I think the team we have now has the ability to score against any team but we need to tighten up a bit defensively and start believing in ourselves when we come up against the big boys, if anything I think it's only tactics and self belief that are stopping this team from going all the way.

Atletico Madrid for example this season, not the best team in the competition but they are tactically exceptional and their self belief is immense.
