Sorry, Not Sorry...

SCRAP THE FAMILY STAND.

Good idea and good thinking in some parts, it worked for a bit. Now it doesn't.

Don't need kids entertainment and the rest, there is enough on citysquare and other activities.

I said from day one it would happen. Started well, faded out in no time. Always had it's weaknesses. Same old story...

Stops fans from getting seats cause they aren't with a child.
Night games = rows of empty seats
Weekend games = rows of empty seats

It's embarrassing.

I have to agree, and I sit in it with my 2 lads! The only reason it's as full as it is, is because huge blocks of seats are taken up by schools group, not just from Manchester but from all over the UK, and even further afield than that. Every week there are tranches of seats empty all over it, not just ones and twos

Even in our famous singing section, which by the way gets outsung by every single set of away fans (apart from the rags). Now that is embarrassing especially when Wigan and Fulham have usually come in a taxi

Really, I'll put that down to the date. I understand your point but don't try and back it up with made up nonsense. The Southstand has a lot of bad days atmosphere wise, but to try and insinuate that the 94 fans from Fulham or the 6 fingered clappers from Wigan made more noise is just plain rubbish and if you are there each week as you say then you know it !

Never miss a game and you were definitely outsung by Fulham. Wigan haven't been yet

It's all about priorities.

Eddie like his late nights, whilst sacrificing his time in bed for City. Good on you Eddie.

City need to encourage affordable football to a new generation of fans.

Whether congregating the supposed kids together with parents is a good idea remains to be seen. What is for certain is the club should monitor non attendance of child tickets (very easy and currenty done as card data stored on entry) and those that don't fulfill at least 15 of the 19 fixtures are forced to renew the child's ticket the following year at full adult's price.

This would discourage 100's of parents buying tickets at £105 to let their kids attend perhaps 6-8 'GLAMOUR' fixtures whilst having the seat empty for the majority of the season.

It would also reduce the size of stand needed, and as has already been mentioned on here, perhaps they could be moved to the South Stand and the whole of the North Stand goes as Safe Standing.

Somewhat controversial that mate. I can never make midweekers, Monday nights or even the 5:30pm kick offs, simply because there's no train home for me that late, and an overnight stay, even if it weren't hugely prohibitive on cost grounds anyway, is a no-no cos my kids have to go to school each day. On that basis, I only usually get to about 12 of the 19 home games per season. I understand the OP's call to scrap the Family Stand as the empties (including on occasion, my own) look embarrassing when they're all grouped together, but an enforced ticket price rise for my kids would simply ensure that I cannot afford to go at all, with the result that there'd then be even more empty seats!

We should get an Eddie Marino chant going to show our appreciation for this super fan.

To the Mancini tune

Oh Eddie wo oh
Marino wo oh oh oh
He jumps up out of bed
Instead of getting head

I can't believe it either. Just so were clear here as I may be misunderstanding what your saying. Your dedication towards City is that high you sometimes get up at 10.30am, 7.30am, 9am etc to watch a match? I honestly can't believe you sacrifice that much.

That is correct every match I'm tuned in no matter how early I have to get up..my girlfriend hates it when we're on 4 hours sleep from the night before and my alarm goes off at 7 30 and I just jump out of bed with my cotton mouth my girlfriend wakes up for one minute says "are you really going to watch it now" and the only response she gets is seeing my back out the door with Dzeko on my back or silva shirt depending on my mood

I bet you sometimes have to stay in bed the next day until 1-2pm to catch up on your lack of sleep.

lol, takes special people, my partner questions our relationship when i get up! Spare a thought for those in Aus n asia, late sunday games are the bain of our existence, derby is 5am monday :p

Haha! I would love to hear that in the etihad!

Converting the entire North Stand into a family stand was one of Cook's biggest follies. There was never going to be enough demand to fill it and it caused a major inconvenience for thousands of City fans who were evicted and forced to relocate.

It seems the club has been letting in unaccompanied adults for at least a year as I've seen random blokes without kids queueing at the turnstiles. Let's have a family stand by all means but not such an extensive one.
