Soton have a nerve

Last match At Maine Road was Southampton, we gave them a reduced ticket allocation and they were pretty pissed off about it, seems it was a tradition to have a good turn out for the last game of the season. For the next couple of games at St Marys they reduced our allocation.
Liverpool, Arsenal, United, do have a big nationide fan base so a early Sunday Ko will not affect the support they bring.

It'd be nice to see rival fans come together and condemn the wider issues at hand, rather than resort to petty point scoring.

Maybe, just maybe, some City fans balk at the prospect of having to travel over 200 miles first thing on a Sunday morning to watch a game that is on TV. And paying over £40 for the privilege.

Liveepool can have their big club trophy. It'll look nice on the sheld next to their April champions one.

We're doing ok enough.

To be fair, it's on a sunday, On telly, tickets are a tad pricey (Was a cheaper trip too go to Arsenal this season) and its a 6 hour drive away. I'm not all that surprised about this too be fair. Doesn't make us any less a fan base, we sell out away days 95% of the time.

I'm 150 miles closer than most blues, but I'm not going, prices, time of day, need to work, are my reasons. I'd sooner do Swansea at home than Southampton away, despite the cheaper travel costs. I've no issue with Southampton either.

To be fair we probably do the same thing.

How many times do we ridicule the away support when compared with previous years?

Sadly, the TV audience make the major decisions now and it doesn't really matter if City, or anybody else fills the away end.

One day the penny will drop.

I think any grown man mocking attendance size, home or away, needs to take a long hard look at themselves. Ticket prices and TV interference make it increasingly difficult for ordinary people to attend games. Hopefully, like you say, the penny will drop one day.

They could easily fill their away end with rags and dippers who live in Southampton, it is this supply and demand from these "global" clubs which drives up ticket costs, IMO.

Also, look no further than the cost of away fan tickets at the Etihad.

I don't think what they put was too bad. Maybe because we are challenging for titles they expect us to compete with United and Liverpool in terms of mass support but that's not the case. We have a good hardcore fan base but not huge in numbers. Probably on the same level as Everton, Spurs, Newcastle etc and they would have exactly the same issue with a Sunday kickoff, live on tv at the other end of the country.

Our away support is up there with the best of them, end of.

and always has been.

they make me laugh these little clubs. they hit a bit of form for a season or two they think they are billy big bollocks. they fill thier tiny ground and take up all the allocations in away games with us , utd etc. once they drop off, and they will, it will be 12k tops and once relegated less than that.
