South Cornwall

Go to a pub in St Austell called the Blue Anchor (I think). Proper old pub with snugs and outside toilets. Anyone know if it's still open? My favourite pub, haven't been there for about a decade.
Never been but the blue anchor in Helston brews its own, called spingo and comes in three different strengths.
Loopy juice!

The Minack theatre is a must see, especially on a lovely calm day.

Lands End is a total dump, a concrete monstrosity, used to be a lovely wild place forty years ago, but the shopping complex is a total eyesore..".The Lands End donut company "sums it up I think. Go there if you must, but don't expect to enjoy it.

Many people think Lands End is the most Southerly point, but it's actually Lizzard Point about 35/45 minutes drive away. There is not a lot there, but worth a visit, at least it is unspoilt.

St Michael's Mount is lovely, highly recommended but you have to check the tide times on the causeway.....go in the castle/house....beautiful.

Further afield Port Isaac is nice, where they film "Doc Martin".

The Eden Project is OK if you like that kind of thing....(I don't)

Don't know whether they still do it, but once we went on a 20 minute pleasure flight over Lands End in a small plane, from Lands End airport, that was good. (£25 in 1976)

Does the Blue Anchor in Helston look over the sea? I been there as well and that's a cracking pub. The one in St Austell has a different name then, I got them both confused. If any of you know it tell me, it's got a couple of bars one which was "for locals", it's also got a number of snugs which are on the opposite side of the corridor to the bar. It brews it's own beer and it stunk!

If you go to the Minack, make sure you go on a warm day and swim in the sea at Porthcurno

Go to Lands End and walk the coastal path down to Sennen Cove

Drive the coastal road from Sennen to St Ives and stop at the Tinners Arms in Zennor for a drink and some dinner

St Ives is one of my favourite places... Love it

Visit Mousehole and St Michaels Mount

Bit further north Padstow is great as well

As someone mentioned give Lands End a miss. Only good for parking at and walking a couple of miles down the coast to Nanjizel Beach. Stunning walk and beach. We always go to Kynance Cove on the Lizard, worth checking tide times. Best going a couple of hours after high tide and watching the beach, caves and coves reveal themselves, again stunning. We stay in Carbis Bay close to St Ives which is great for eating and drinking but can get busy. If driving along A394 between Penzance and Helston look for Perranuthnoe signs. Go to end of road and there is a beach side cafe that does the best Hot Chocolate ever. Trust me. Been for the last 12 years or so and always find somewhere new, fantastic part of the country.

I'm off to St.Ives in May, I can't wait..............
I'm lucky my dad retired there about 10 years ago.
Me and the wife did the coastal walk from St.Ives to Zennor last year, took us about an hour and a half, we we're embarrassingly under prepared just thinking it would be a nice little stroll, in our shorts and t-shirts, it turned out to be almost rock climbing at certain points.
But it was all worth it when you arrive at the Tinners Arms. Lovely place and a proper Cornish Inn. Had to ring my dad to come and collect us though, know way were we walking all the way back to St.Ives.

What does your dad say it's like in St Ives out of season when the tourists have all gone and the weather turns. Is it a ghost town?
