south stand atmosphere

atmosphere is getting worse every year

Title winning season was the best atmosphere throughout an entire season, especially near the end of the season (Chelsea, West Brom, United, QPR, etc), that I've heard for a few years, but ever since we won the title the only matches where I recall a good atmosphere was Chelsea last season, and United this season. Something needs to be done to pick it up.

Their were people next to me eating homemade butties against Plzen!!

Basically if you wanna sit and eat prawn sandwiches and have a family fun day, theirs another 3 stands to do that, 2 of them have 3 tiers.

The club should make a singing section which you have to apply to get into and you can only apply if you have a season ticket or certain number or points. It should be made into an away end for City fans at home if anyone knows what i mean.

We should trim the anti united songs down by a lot and just sing about about City and past/present players. Yes 6-1 was amazing but it was 2 years ago and we're free the watch it as much as we want, but no need to sing about it every game as it just looks small time and obsessed with them c**ts. Theres a lot of songs ive heard sang by groups in pubs home and away, why not get them going in the stadium?

The club should also take them cringy 'my first game' down and just have it as a standard football stand. We need terraces back!

Colin Bell, 127, is the best and that's a FACT. Everyone else are like sheep in their blocks, following the latest 'fad.' I'll give you an example, when 'stand up if you love City' breaks out, the whole ground stands up and claps. Not us! Oh no, we remain seated. And we don't even clap.

We are that individual that when there's a contentious decision and you scream at the ref, you suddenly feel a little embarrassed because you realise that you're the only one stood up. And you're the only one who shouted out. You sit down knowing that EVERYONE heard what you shouted.

127… setting the trend.

Heeeeeeyy eating home made sarnies does not = "prawn sandwich family fun day out person"! Unless they ate it in the match ;)

They may have come straight from work, or travelled a bit, and brought their own food cos don't like the shit city sell?! I used to take home made cheese sarnies, being veggie i hate the crap we sell, plus home made is cheaper than shop bought, and i'm poor - and hungry!!!! I used to take my own on the real kippax in the early 90s too, was that not allowed either?! Some people have health things that mean if they go more than a 3 or 4 hours without some kind of food they get faint you know! Drinking booze = allowed, eating food from home = bad. I guess that's the trendy "imatruecityfanandyourenot" city rule?!

(Though yes, i get your point that i take it they were in the singing section? But i thought that block or 2 was always sold out to season tickets?)

Wow you're a happy chappy! Is your home in black and white with no photos of anyone then?! Do people on here forget how dull and grey and bland the stadium was for the first 6 or so years inside, the floor was grey, the walls were plain... it didn't feel blue and city. Replace the "my first game" yeah but replace it with city player pics from our long long history. Ie nowt wrong with a bit of COLOUR and not just grey. As much as i loved the old kippax, as we know those days are gone - surely you're not blaming a bit of colour in the ground for a shit atmosphere?! "Lets turn up to a grey bowl cos hey at least its like a proper football ground and we can build our our atmosphere!!!" Then again its easy to blame everything to avoid the fact that 70% of fans nowadays that go simply dont want to stand for 90 minutes belting out songs, they want to watch, and cheer, and chant, but not where they have to do it all the time or they'll get picked on on the meany weeny internet ;)

Haha I'm not that boring and having pictures of old players is a shout actually. Just sick of some people in the south stand these days, luckily their not stood next to me so i suppose it could be worse.

No stamina at times, too many away fans have the free reign to sing what they want
Simple really

A few things
1. The music City play, does it help, I would say no. Play some of the songs we sing on occasion or things that are uplifting more often
2. Relocation (know this is difficult) in each of the four stands there should be sections for those more vocal fans who currently sprinkled across all areas of the ground, 100 together in the North lower, 300 together in the CB you would see a massive difference. Help to create wraparound
3. Too many haters South Stand/Singing section arrogance.
4. Give NS level 2, freebees something that makes a noise.
5. Concourses, good for conversation and review. some times this is were concourse is generated.
6. City Square, well wow.
7. Songs although great, aren't long enough, little or no intro therefore they die out as other join in.

'Virtual Reality Glasses and Headphones' appears to be the obvious solution to satisfy some of you people still living in the hooligan era!

You choose how you view the action. See the players attack a backdrop of noisy full stands of lager swilling louts with not a women or child in sight! Press button X to throw flares and metal bolts at the opposition fans from above. Press button O for the chance to jump the advertising signs and attack the opposition goalkeeper.

There sorted, now where's my butties and flask go to?
