Southampton (A) - Carabao Cup | Post Match Thread

Never thought I'd say this about any player in a Pep team - Cancelo gets a zero out of ten for that performance. We would have been better with 10 men - when he's like this (sulking and not interested) he is impossible to like. We were not beaten by a good team, we played as though we didn't want to add any more games to the schedule. Lyanco frightened our players who were mostly cowardly - anyway hopefully a big reaction at the weekend. That was back to Pearce type play, not a single shot on target against a poor defence.

Positives:

Seemingly no injuries.
Rodri was somewhat rested.
We set a new City record for no shots on target in the League Cup under Pep!

Only plus point I have seen us go into midweek games prior to a derby, be shite and lose then smash them cunts at weekend, so heres hoping.

When on earth are we finally going to buy a left back? Also a proper pacey winger is need ,Alvarez will never be a winger.

He's back!
He's on here!

An underperformance from the players. Credit to Soton. They did their part and City didn’t.

They need to have a word with themselves as they can’t play like this at the weekend.

The happy clappers will still put a positive spin on that. The only positive I can see is no one is injured!

Phillips looks like another shit investment.

Going off the last 5 games, Saturday is gonna be a real test.

One good game against a shite Chelsea recently
