How Pep turns us into a top side again heaven only knows. Maybe a change is needed
Honestly can't believe people are willing to give up on our greatest ever manager after one poorish season. A poor season that could still end up with another FA cup as well. Today was shite, the season in general has been shite, but to want a man who has in 9 years given us 6 league titles, 4 league cups, 2 FA cups and the European Cup, out the football club at the first sign of trouble, blows my mind! He isn't above criticism, but the fans questioning his position need to look at themselves. He might never get us back to the heights he had us, but not many clubs have been to them heights to begin with! He certainly warrants more time and backing than some fans are willing to give him.

Haaland back in the starting line-up and does next to nothing... again. Is he a player we need to look at in terms of future planning. Yes he has scored a shite-load of goals. Great. He can be a great player. But can he/will he continue to be that player for us? We were a better team without him 2020-22 - in my opinion. I would much rather have 3-players hitting close to 20+ a season and adding more to our overall play, than one player who, while a great scorer of goals, too often adds little else to our play and is, let be honest, sometimes invisible.
Dude, he is here for 10 years. We must make sure he is the focal point of the way we play.

For starters, we need to play quicker... A lot quicker. Both Marmoush and Haaland are "give it to me early and let's get at their defense" types of forwards.

And we have to adjust our pace to recognize that reality He and Marmoush would be Killers in Liverpool's fast paced team. Even on United they'd be terrifying.

Our slow possession game actually harms both of them. We cant afford to play this way with those types of Forwards.

We are a total mess compared to how much we have fallen in such a short time.
Every week there is never a player who you could say was MOM.
We have been in a bit of a run but have been lucky as hell.
We have a Manager who constantly makes baffling decisions on the team line up and subs.
We were embarrassed in Europe.
We have one of the greatest striker and fail to play to his strengths
We have had a diabolical transfer policy for about 5 windows now (including letting quality players leave, no more than the last 2 windows when none of our last six signings even started today.
Fuck the FA Cup, failure to qualify for the UCL is massive and in a season where even 5th gets you there, it will be a mess to not even be able to do that
You seem to have lost the plot a bit.
Try to have a relaxing night - things will not look quite so catastrophic in the cold light of day.
I wish you nothing but good - we are all blues.

Problem is that Pep looks frazzled and he is stuck with the majority of this awful squad (including 200m of players who he will only play one of)

We were soooooo fucking slow on the build up.

Come on, it makes perfect sense…

Arrogant as fuck….manager thinks we’ve already got top 5 and is getting minutes into players ahead of the world club cup…..

Like I said, arrogant as fuck and the manager should pay for all of those traveling blues….
That's ridiculous. Who would you have started to today.

We're playing the worse team in PL history. Apart from maybe Mcatee (who should have shon today) who else would you have started!?

100% agree

26 shots and just 5 on target sums up the complete lack of goals in this team. 7 shots on target in the last 2 games v Wolves and Southampton shows our problem.
The amount of corners and free kicks around the box we had today which all came to nothing should be the end of our woeful set piece coach but it wont.
Just too many non clinical players in our squad. We must have the least threatening group of wingers around

Team were waiting for something to happen without trying to make it happen first 60mins. Lack of shots from the edge of the box replaced with trying to hit 1 tall player in a box with 10 defenders. I get the how pep is trying to stop the transitions against by playing narrow and packing the midfield but this was Southampton we should have gone for throat from 1st minute.

It happens. Nothings certain. Pep knows there's a problem and deserves the time to fix it. If it means we win fuck all this season, so be it. I'll console myself with my vivid memories of multiple trophy lifts, from Brighton to Istanbul.

Last season both Liverpool and Arsenal lost at home, on the same day in April. They were expected to stroll to 3 points, but those results effectively handed us the title. But Klopp and Arteta weren't scrutinised like Pep.

If "happy clapping" is simply acknowledging Peps staggering achievements for our Club, then guilty as charged. He gets a free pass this season from me, and I'll judge him this time next season, if that's OK with you.

Happy Clapper...give me strength.
Pep knows there's a problem but keeps playing the same old players and the same old shite tactics.

We are the easiest team in the league to play against.

Boring sideways footy.

Get it out wide and wait for the shit cross to go out of play or into the defenders legs.

Major surgery required. And that means looking beyond the playing staff.

Let's not even get on to the amount of overhit crosses that sailed aimlessly out of play, we're a complete mess

O'Reilly and Marmoush at a minimum for me.
There is no formation or personnel that has worked thos season that did not include those 2.

Not starting them was disrespectful on Pep's part. And we've paid for that disrespect.

Unless pep had an eye on the fa cup and those who didn't start play in the fa cup. Hence the reason for mcatee, Lewis, akanji, haaland and foden starting

I’d have stuck with what worked and not played Foden, given Haaland maybe 45 mins, and put some pace on earlier….fucking ridiculous walking football for 74 minutes when we needed 3 points… just complete arrogance from the manager assuming it would be either a walkover or we didnt need all the points and it was more important to get minutes in returning players legs…utter bollocks and smacks of entitlement imo.

We are entitled to nothing.

Watching today and previous games this it is becoming apparent to me that we don't have players who play on the half turn anymore. David, Sergio, Yaya, Leroy and Kev at his best could do that. Now the players would rather pass it back to a free man rather take on a defender or push forward.
Hence why we need to get rid of Grealish. He’s a good closer but that’s about it. You don’t spend 100M for that job.
