Southampton (A) Post Match Thread

From where we were stood it looked like we should of had a pen when kun went to tap in and the defender fell and saved it with his arm ?
Did they show that ?

The one where they ended up careering over the goal line for a corner? I thought he used his arm to ferry that out. He did look a bit sheepish as the corner was awarded. But I've just watched the highlights and there's some distinct booing after our second goal! Is it because Raheem was involved? I've never had issues with Southampton, we've had many an association with them, including The Blessed Alan Ball of this parish, but if they were booing him then I hope the fuckers play in the championship next season!

Thats the one I thought it was clear handball ?

I've come to the conclusion that the governing bodies of the sport realise that the game is far too quick these days for one Whistling Wanker and Two Flag Wavers, plus some Board Geezer on the side to correctly call the shots. Introduce VAR and that incident doesn't get a showing. I cannot help but think that they want a system of VAR that basically replicates much of the shit that we have now but they will have gone through the slo-mo video, with the assistance of HMP Walton and that master logician Danny Murphy, and will be sitting on the high moral ground saying that the ref got it right in the first place, or that the ref has got it right with the assistance of VAR. Same shit, different system. And I am convinced the whole VAR 'industry' will be packed with Dippers and Rags!

It was softer than soft but that didn’t stop Alan Smith deciding it was a stonewaller - these pundits really are clueless

The pundits are paid to portray clubs and players in a certain way, Sterling recently highlighted it between black and white players but it’s also a matter of the club’s. He didn’t get any negative portrayal when he was at Liverpool for example.

Sky and BBC highlighting penalties not given against us is simply to portray that referees don’t give anything against us, therefore giving it in the next match. Just like Delph getting sent off last week which was only because the press portrayed him as a dirty twat for the tackle on Calvert Lewis the week before.

3 points, but another careless goal given away.
When is Pep going to realise that Zinchenko & Delph aren't left backs.
We should have pushed on and got more goals second half, as we may need the goal difference later. Sterling & Mahrez never looked like scoring, their finishing is awful.

Why push on to get more goals when we have another game on Thursday? The intensity and sharpness hasn’t been there recently because the players are shattered, we need to conserve energy when we can.

Who would you have played at LB?
As for the rest of your post - wise up

De Bruyne and Aguero starting to look a lot sharper and Dinho back is a huge boost, Spanish Dave is something else.

No, they weren't booing Sterling. They were booing that they believed they should have had a penalty which was waved away and we scored as soon as we got the ball up the other end of the field less than a minute later
At half time the southampton supporters were singing "3-1 to the referee"
