Southampton (A) - Post Match Thread

Eh? No one declared city champions and City's performance did not show any hint of arrogance. You can't win every game. Today a lot of things didn't go our way and Southampton scored a worldie, they also played well.

One for elsewhere maybe, my reaction. You will have misunderstood that, but then it wasnt meant for everyone.

We didn't play awfully first half. There was minimal sloppy passing, we were all over them, the last 10 minutes was played outside their penalty area, and we were a bad Sterling miss from going in at the break level.

That 1st half was significantly better than the home game v Southampton, or the 1st half vs Arsenal, or the 2nd half vs Leicester, where we really did have problems and looked bad.
yeah good points but that first haldf was frustrating

I thought the whole team looked disjointed and sluggish.
Don’t know why. We’ve had a decent rest.

We had ample opportunity to win that, but scarcely deserved it despite our statistical superiority. Just took to long to get a pass in, a shot in, a tackle in at times.
Maybe we are a better side when we are playing 3 matches a week as it keeps the intensity going...sometimes a break can take the sting out of our play and that's why we where subdued first half....just a thought....

Only 5 attempts on target was the main problem and in a squad full of left footers the biggest chance falls to left foot of right footer
Shots on target don’t really mean much. You can have a shot that’s on target but have five blokes in the way and is a poor choice of shot, and you can have a better move and opportunity to score but miss the goal.

Grealish 100mil ohh
What was wrong with Grealish today ? our best player in the first half and won a dozen free kicks , get off the Grealish hate band wagon and get behind the player i coudlnt give a fuck if he cost £200m he's giving everything for the cause and that why Pep starts him.

Poor attitude
Poor tactics
It’s time to sell on some players & get a real striker especially for games like this.

happy with a point well done away blues great voice
Spot on mate. I blame the city 'fans' at the game. Why should us top blues spend 90 mins a week checking the score on our phones every five minutes if they can't even be arsed cheering the lads on for the win.

Can’t win them all, and avoided a defeat. We dug it out and in the recent past we might have huffed and puffed and lost it.

A couple of the decisions that were iffy and fucking annoying how they take so long, killing our momentum.

On the plus side the talk of the winning run goes away, we rest, reset and go again.

we have a good run of fixtures to find our groove ahead of the champions league and the spurs game.
