This is a match where the double pivot actually makes sense. It was WBA at home where it didn’t.

It was glaringly fucking obvious that West Brom would offer very little going forward, and therefore the double pivot was unnecessary.

Foden or Silva in the starting XI would have made much more sense.

To me, at least.

Wanted to see Foden in and Sterling out and no Gundo/Rodri together but you can’t have everything

Foden in? He started against West Brom (and was anonymous). At least Sterling created our only goal.

Well, at least we will win the possession stat. That’s about all I can see is getting from this game. We are woeful infront of goal, Sterling couldn’t hit the ground if he fell over and Rodri and Gundo are so slow in midfield that a supertanker turns faster than they do.
I really want them to prove me wrong today, but I don’t want my hopes destroyed YET AGAIN.
Please put the ball in the OPPOSITIONS net at least one more time than it goes into ours.
