Southampton fans coming out today

Still amazes me that people act like total dicks before and after games. What the fuck is going through their small minds, arm waving acting like simpletons…Oh well, glad I’m too old to deal with that petty shit

Even in the aftermath of what was a late crushing defeat for 35,000 Southampton fans, they took it incredibly well. This topic has little correspondence with reality. That is football message boards for you.

They could have been worse but I'm not sure they took it incredibly well. Depends which way you left the ground I suppose, and which groups of Southampton fans you bumped into.

Newcastle fans were probably the best after we beat them at Wembley in 1976, they took it really well ..... yet if you turned up at Newcastle for a league game in those days they chased you all over the f'kn place !
Not if you were a 16 year old kid and got a smack in the mouth off a middle aged fat bloke they weren’t:-(

I got smacked by a Geordie before the game but tbh I deserved it. At 15 I had drunk a Watneys Party Four on the Bullocks coach going down so thought I could fight the lot of them.
Sang " Flucastle " at them and got filled in lol.

West Ham also turned up ( this was pre 1987 ) and I remember our coach joining up with Geordies in a Northern Alliance to run them off.

After the game I was with a mate of my cousins and got caught outside their coaches by a bunch of them. The lad I was with was a few years older than me and when one of them tried to nick my scarf he decked the Geordie with one of the best punches I have ever seen in my life.

Can also remember them singing Gordon Lees Black and White Army after the game, applauded City with the cup too at the lap of honour.

You obviously didn’t have to walk through them to Wembley Central, seems you have a soft spot for them …

Billy Big Bollocks Saints fans , one visit to Wembley in 50 years can understand how they get giddy , but if they do get promoted they will not sell out their allocation at the Etihad , they never do. Typical Yo-Yo club , small time , new manager every few months and will be playing in front off a half full stadium at Xmas , when they are either Championship mid table or ten points adrift at the bottom of the Premier league . Tossers.

Wow what a coincidence - I was 16 in 76 at Wembley and before the game also got a snack in the face but with a bottle ( luckily it didn’t break ) off a 30’odd year old Geordie bloke in a white butchers coat - yep they were great fun.
