Southampton fans coming out today

Billy Big Bollocks Saints fans , one visit to Wembley in 50 years can understand how they get giddy , but if they do get promoted they will not sell out their allocation at the Etihad , they never do. Typical Yo-Yo club , small time , new manager every few months and will be playing in front off a half full stadium at Xmas , when they are either Championship mid table or ten points adrift at the bottom of the Premier league . Tossers.
They've been to two League Finals since 1976!

'One visit to Wembley in 50 years' - 5th in the last decade.

'Yo yo club' - 47 of the last 60 years in top flight. That's only a few less than you lot.

'Be playing in front of half full stadium by xmas' - Never had an average that low since moving to St Mary's and didn't last season during the worst season in our entire history.

'Never sell out allocation at Etihad' - apart from last season of course. Though traditionally never had good numbers up north so half right on that one in fairness.

Other than all that an excellent and factually accurate post. Well done mate.

Went to Southampton in 1976 for a hastily arranged friendly to celebrate them winning the Cup
At FT they invaded the pitch and lots headed towards the 500 to 1000 Hearts fans looking for trouble.
They soon scurried back when they realised us drunk sunburned arseholes were definitely up for a scrap.
Oh and we won!!

Small time. Always have been in my experience.

Only one song needed for them

“ We’ve got more in the Junior Blues”

I did enjoy giving it straight back to their chant to Haarland of “ You’re just shit Charlie Adam” at St Mary’s.

When Haaland scored his spectacular overhead 15 minutes later we sand straight to him “You’re just a shit Charlie Adam” and he loved the irony laughing his head off.

Even in the aftermath of what was a late crushing defeat for 35,000 Southampton fans, they took it incredibly well. This topic has little correspondence with reality. That is football message boards for you.
So you are saying every City poster that got shit off them is lying or deluded? I think what I have read on here is a pretty accurate representation of what I observed on Saturday. The fact that you think the 35000 Southampton fans behaved like “saints” suggests you maybe were lucky, or maybe you just like being obtuse. Also it was indeed a late defeat but not particularly crushing - I didn’t speak to a single one of their fans before the game who expected to win. What I saw was a fan base who had a lot of fans who were quiet after the game but a lot who were giving it absolute shit based on probably the first game outside Southampton for most of them all season, and I suspect a lot of them maybe don’t go at home either. A lot mouthier and worse than Sunderland stoke Watford Brighton liverpool chelsea palace and sheff united, on a par with villa and forest id say. Better than the rags though

The game, or the scrap, or both Jambo?

Not a club or place I have ever taken to.Have worked down there and found it very soulless and zero humour or personality, probably explaining why they think shouting a colour is a good song.
Also some nasty bastards there, drove to the Dell in the mid 80s with a mate only to find it was sold out so went trying different turnstiles a d us and some other City fans were confronted by loads wandering about not in the game looking for trouble.

Were you there?

I know what i personally saw.

It wasn't an odd 2 or 3 , it was vast numbers of intimidating (presumably drink and drug fueled) relatively young people, picking on single and small groups of outnumbered City fans.

As others have said, NO EXCUSE whatsoever in this day and age !

Another weirdo joining another clubs forum ? Why would you ? We have a Goon bragging about failure and now this guy , dont believe the comment on your attendances , you hardly ever filled the Dell unless a big club arrived and all the local Dipper & Utd fans turned up to fill your ground. You didnt sell your allocation last season , i was there , and you never have.
If you make the play-off final thats another Wembley appearance you can brag about :)

I can't recall if they sold out last season at ours. I'd be surprised if they did but they did sell out at ours in the first game of the 2012-13 season after they'd been promoted. The only other occasion I can recall in my 36 years as a season ticket holder was the 2003-04 season when they either had free tickets or half-price tickets as a "punishment" against us for giving them a smaller than usual allocation for the last ever game at Maine Road the season before as we wanted as many City fans as possible to see that game. Bizarrely, Saints didn't even sell out that smaller allocation yet we still got a bollocking off the football authorities!

I've booked my hotel for Wembley to take my two young daughters. Will drive down and after fuel and tickets (TBC but season ticket holders), I'm already looking at about £400 before we get there. Obviously I'll need another £100 on food and drink.

Do people expect us to pay that out 3 times in a few weeks? I could knock that down a bit but we want to have the best time possible.

The train is more expensive than the above and it was around £50 per head on coaches for there and back, which is a lot of effort with or without young kids.

Do you think you may have misheard them and they were actually Gary Glitter fans singing "Hello, Hello.."?
