Very comfortable for us. Southampton just not interested in playing in the first half.

Our kids did well.

our failure to pick up Stephens on two consecutive corners is disappointing. He almost scored from the first and did from the second. I know we aren’t a tall team but don’t we practice defending corners.

anyway, same again Saturday will do very nicely thank you.

Feel bad Poveda had no chance. Bernardo needed to do more, he even got to play midfield, he was better last season.

Doyle did the business, didn't have too much to do in the holding role, and its not even his position.

Phil looked like one of the best players, and is always looking very good, needs more starts in important games.

Very satisfactory. There was no need to set out to murder them. Delighted to see the young lads get a game.

Angelino has impressed me each time he’s played.

My god that was a stroll in the park but a great run out for the young lads. It’s a shame Southampton didn’t offer a bit more to test Garcia particularly, but all in all a very satisfying night.

A stroll in the park for the boys. Sergio led by example. If there’s any criticism I think this was a night when Foden could’ve really ran the show.

Angelino superb-shame about the injury. Gives us so much balance. Garcia so intelligent in his positioning and awareness. Doyle hugely impressive for one so young.

Yes, but we’ll have to play both Sergio and Gundo in case it goes to penalties
