Southampton (H) League Cup Post-Match Thread

All good really from a City point of view. Very good to see how the younger players handled it. None looked out of place.

Given the team we put out and the fact it was a cup match I cant believe Southampton turned up with no intention to do anything other than avoid being done by a cricket score, I really would be pissed off if I were a supporter of them.

Thought Southampton were scared to not concede another bag of goals in the first half which deflated the atmosphere a bit. There was no contest in the first half and it didn't feel like an official game.

We did well though. Think we'll have a group of 4-5 academy players in the squad in 2 years, and I mean academy players who play not only in the cups here and there.
Yep i think we are on the cusp of the youngsters getting in,they will only get cups to start with and get in slowly but i think the group we had last night look really promising, training with the first team, playing together in the EDS games,if people can just be patient with their demanding to get the kids into the prem team then i don't think they will have to wait too long, phil is the one for now and when dave leaves, pep has said we won't be buying and we know who our next magician will be when talking about phil

Did anyone hear the berk, on Radio Manchester, who read out the teams?

As he got to the midfield, he said, "It looks like Foden will be holding."

You really couldn’t make it up!

Nothing bad but broken toe nails that get infected so they can't get their boots on(phew saved you from the coc there ;))
I just said injured, does the coc prohibit that? Actually I hope they all get badly injured coc’s with nasty infections
