It's 3 points again and Job done.

There is so much football, and injuries are mounting up. Two games a week, Premier League, Champions League, League Cup, International break. With a small squad that Pep likes to work with, so you need your big hitters fit.

You take a win every day of the week, Forget the stats or performance because you can play perfect football and lose. The only stat that matters is the first one City 1.0 Southampton and top of the league
Too right - after 9 games we're 7 points clear of 4th, and a minimum 9 clear of our "neighbours".
Struggling for (top) form, and with a horrendous injury list - every 3 points is just sweet!

Bizarrely, given the borefest, the least amount of early leavers I've witnessed for a long time!?! Can only assume everyone just nodded off and didn't realise the time.
I saw people leaving with 15 mins to go and by the start of injury time the ground was half empty.
At only 1.0 I genuinely can’t get my head around why people leave early, what’s the point in coming at all if you’re prepared to leave when the game is on a knife edge.
Modern day football fan I suppose.

I'm just watching the Everton v Fulham game, and it's a great watch for a neutral, unlike our games that have become truly awful! Anyone who tries to deny that is completely blinkered. There is nothing to get anyone off their seats anymore, and I suspect that even those who perpetually stand, are now trying their seats out.

Yes teams defend deep, and yes that stops us attacking at pace, but there are countless times when we could shoot or cross, and create chaos in doing so, yet we recycle left to right, and right to left over and over again. The novelty of winning has long since passed, and I suspect there are many fans want to see a return to entertaining games (even if that means we lose the odd game 2-3), and are now contemplating the cost of travel, time and inconvenience to watch that same turgid rubbish every game. I imagine I will get pelters for this, but I'm deadly serious, win or not, games like that today are bloody shocking to watch, and it's happening every bloody game.

I didn't think that was bad at all. I think the team looked the most cohesive unit they have this season and, but for poor finishing, we'd be quite happy. The lack of goals from midfield is a bit of a worry though.
Haaland will have a sleepless night tonight wondering how he didn't get a hatrick, easier score 2 of the chances he missed

we played quite well and deserved a much comfortable win, could not believe the commentary who kept suggesting it was a much closer match than it actually was

Bollocks. You want to do basketball game, more or less. There is no real choice between control and fast attacks. Difference is nobody like Pep mastered positional football. If you dont like it, watch other teams. At the end of the day its suppose to be entertainment. I love our football for instance and i love watching these games, including today

I’ll take the 3 points, but the lack of wanting to take players on to get in on goal is frustrating to watch, and I wish Pep would quit starting with Lewis in any defensive position, he’s never where he should be and gives the ball away far to often.
Better than a loss.

The novelty of city winning football matches will never wear off for me!!!!

I'll take 30 of those games like today every day of the week if it leads to lifting the league title.

Many of our back 5 have won more than a dozen trophies. Confidence shouldn't be an issue.
I’m just saying that’s why people say clean sheets matter. I would say regardless of how many trophies a player has won, being part of a defence which keeps clean sheets matters. That’s certainly what most defenders I’ve ever heard talk about the the game tend to say. It matters to them.

Just remember who was out today, Rodri, Bobb, Kevin, Doku and Grealish, it was just a case of getting the win, stop being melodramatic.

You're right with that, but I get where the lad is coming from.
It's a process of our success and world class team we have built. Teams would rather lose 1 nil rather than have a go and get hammered 4 or 5 nil.

It's not City's fault.

Just watch other teams the week after they play us. They play totally differently.

Top of the league, 23 out of 27 points.
Unbeaten.
All while being way off our best. It feels like every game is the biggest at the minute, just want to get through it with a win not arsed about the performance. Let’s try get to the next international break top of the league and hopefully the injury situation will improve.
Until the injuries from that international break !
