Southampton came to keep their goal difference down.
Edited for accuracy.....Good result, clean sheet, chance for injured players more time for recovery, top of the league. Some here seem to think we areSouthamptonEntitled.
Woeful again in the final third v a team who conceded 3 in each of their last 3 games.
Another game we sneaked a win, amazing we are top of the table as we have been totally unconvincing in all our PL games this season and had some luck in quite a few of them.
Awful squad depth and a severe lack of creativity and goals in the team, and the usual god awful corners are back.
Throw the cup game v Spurs. Play the kids as we cannot even name a whole bench atm even with 2 keepers
When you see Wolves getting a point after being down 2-0 at Brighton at 88 minutes. 2 late goals got them the draw. It's a tough league to get 3 points especially after a tough champions league game midweek.. Bournemouth drew at Villa today -Villa played midweek CL. So yes, a win is win.A win is a win. I hate the criticism for us supposedly playing crap by not scoring shedloads against teams who put 11 in the box, and pray for a breakaway goal.
it is NOT us that makes these games a tough watch. What the hell are you supposed to do? The fact we can keep winning these games at all is bloody impressive.
The experience with Alvarez shows exactly why we should sign a second striker, rather than why we shouldn’t.No strikers of any note is going to sit and watch from the bench , we couldnt keep jules happy and he was a great young player, thor is the number one and we can revert to false nine at any time
Obviously forgot how bad we we are under Pearce.Edited for accuracy.....
FFS A win is a win and 3 points. We can't br the Harlem Globetrotters every week. Sometimes you have to just tough it out, and for the fact we can do that we should be truly thankful.
I was of the opinion that one team dominating the league would be a bad thing.2 YEARS - unbeaten at home.
So poor then.So clueless Haaland had 6 big chances to score, just because he only took the most difficult one doesn't mean we were clueless.
Or get an older striker who's happy with limited minutes, like Madrid did with Joselu last season. The experience with Alvarez shows exactly why we should sign a second striker, rather than why we shouldn’t.
Buy a good young player who isn’t quite at the top level, give them a chance to play with top players and start c20 games a season, and ultimately let them move on in a couple of years if they want to play every week.
If we get our recruitment right, then we get a useful striker for a while and turn a profit. Doesn’t really matter if we have to repeat the cycle every couple of years, and potential recruits can look at Alvarez to see the upside for them.
Poor finishing yes but the performance was mostly fine.So poor then.
Halland wasn't right today - puffing like a steam engine with a boiler problem after 80 mins. Should have been subbed.
Time wasting at 1 nil down with 30 mins to go :DSouthampton came to keep their goal difference down.
If a bit dull. Wins are more important currently but it’s not much fun to watch at the min.Poor finishing yes but the performance was mostly fine.
That’s what I’m trying to say, ok you can expect the lower sides but it’s all but a couple who give very little other than a counter. Suppose I was brought up in an era when the game was open.To be fair to teams at the bottom, they are allowed to stack the box. They have come for one thing as a maximum, and that's a draw.
It's the teams like Arsenal who should have more courage in their play. They are the ones ripping off spectators.
We never drew them out though until the last 10 when they were looking for equaliserHow else do you propose getting through parked buses every week ? Moving it around and drawing them out is the only way
Not me. I would've believed it though. I would have believed it too.Who would of believed, a nail biter.
