Pleased with the 3 points but my word, how will var crawl out of this one? Oh yes, they'll say nothing, or worse, some crap about it not being clear cut, ignoring what even I could see on my stuttering stream of Foden touches ball, keeper touches Foden, Moss tries to find his arse with both hands, and fails.
The dodgy Foden penalty aside (and red card? I mean, that's pretty much an open net), their penalty didn't look too convincing either. Who falls over from the chest down?
If players and managers can be charged with bringing the game into disrepute, why not the officials? Even if you ignore the bias cries from us city fans, that's pretty much var not doing the job var is supposed to do. What were they doing stockley park? Playing sticky biscuit? Jon Moss clearly needed help breathing today, let alone making any decision from what finger to pick his nose with to not eating a crate of donughts before the match.
It's created another so incredibly wrong it's nearly funny situation where people question what var was up to, is var even worthwhile and is the integrity of the competition still there. Two blokes in charge between them could have stopped that, but decided not to. Its not even close, it's not even questionable the order of events, it's s fcuk up and they're closing ranks and watching each others backs. Do we really want Foden to dive, for England maybe, is that what the English game rewards? Looking across the city, evidently so...
Anyway, 6 wins needed. Pep is right, we get nothing. We don't want anything undue, but you'd never see city at the top of the penalties awarded table (or scored to be honest!). Thankfully we have another way to win, desire and ability, which means we can walk off the field having chosen not to cheat and still be top of the league.
