Someone should be out of a job for that unless they convince someone who decides their future tenure it was a genuine error of judgement.properly was the moderator himself post it
That stood out for me too, thats pep indirectly saying no dodgy refs or shit VAR has aided us like it has other teams.fantastic! “we did it by ourselves “
4 fouls committed by Southampton...in 93 minutes...a foul every 23 minutes....says it all really about Moss
Its all about getting points on the board, performance takes a back seat.Anyway, I wasn't overwhelmed with our performance.
Southampton really made us struggle with the ball, and we lacked the control to handle it. Fortunately, Southampton's press left their defence vulnerable and we did a really good job trying to exploit it.
Mahrez, Foden, Dias, Zinchenko, and Ederson all impressed me individually. Mahrez in particular. I think collectively we showed a strong attitude and that was really important to our win.
It was nice to see Aguero, Torres, and Mendy all get minutes.
I expect this performance to be a blip. I think against Fulham we'll be back to our robotic, living in 2nd gear best.
What the fuck are they on about? The on field referee could be mistaken but the VAR has the opportunity to look at the incident from several different angles.Statement released, Some codswallop about the ref thinking their keeper got a hand on it, so didnt see anything to disprove that view. Totally bizarre
It wouldn’t have been a red even if the pen had correctly been given as the keeper was making a genuine attempt for the ballIt’s preventing a clear goal scoring opportunity, not only should it be a pen the keeper should have walked.
Sky were awful trying to defend it, glad Souness called it out for the absolute shit show it was from the ref.
Well, yes and no. But I'm glad we won.Its all about getting points on the board, performance takes a back seat.
why was laporte not great( ie poor) ?, fucking bemuses me, stones is the golden balls at the moment ,so laporte cant do anything rightBetter result than performance. Foden, Mahrez and KDB did well. Laporte and Fernandinho not great. Walker gave away possession so often.
Moss was incredibly incompetent, the penalty non decision on Foden shows how poor the premier league referees are. VAR isn’t working because you have an awful ref on the pitch backed by another awful ref in Stockley Park. Instead of using VAR to give the referee another pair of eyes it’s giving 2 fools an excuse to come to wrong decision.
Fully agree, it's been a while since a 5-2 win felt less enjoyable, and no I feel no sense of entitlement. Gone was our midfield/defense solidity that brought the most recent of our 21 wins. It was like a bunch of superstars from different clubs, meeting at a strange ground and taking on a good local team. Back to huge empty spaces in central midfield and 1 or 2 opponents running at and terrorising 4 or 5 defenders, a bit like we were last season. We won because we had the better individual players but I would be hiding behind the sofa if we fielded that starting 11 in the CL, playing like that, or against Leicester or Chelsea. I will be pounded , no doubt, but we need to go to Bernie, Rodri, Gundogan midfield with Cancelo & Oleks wide + Foden, Kevin + 1 other as a front 3 IMHO. It has been awhile since I felt relief instead of joy after a 5-2 win, but it could have been 9-6. Bright side is, 14 points ahead and 4 trophies still to play for and Pep threatening to wield the axe. Souness says Var officials are making it up as they go along, very hard to dispute that, it needs a thorough review with referees mic'd up like in Rugby, or better again employ some top European refs to make the Var decisions. Refereeing is not easy but television has exposed too many howlers. The first 20 minutes were fucking abysmal with no discernible shape / idea.
After that some individual excellence papered over the cracks.
The penalty / VAR decision was yet another clear example of outright cheating. There literally is no other possible explanation.
3 points and back on the horse.
Astonishing Statement....What the fuck are they on about? The on field referee could be mistaken but the VAR has the opportunity to look at the incident from several different angles.
It wouldn’t have been a red even if the pen had correctly been given as the keeper was making a genuine attempt for the ball
Straight swap for Neil Pointon wasn't it when Kendall was determined to bring a lot of the then Everton squad to Maine Road ?lets not forget he jumped ship to everton ? bitter and will not be forgiven after tonight ? ex city player with a axe to grind always works for skysports
