Sorry guys, I have been absolutely swamped at work ... not been able to even visit the forum in the last week or so (even though it's always open in one of the windows on my PC all day). I don't think I'd be able to do the detailed write-ups for each pre-match thread, especially now that games would come every few days as well. (Will still try and do every now and then whenever I can) and will continue to create these pre-match threads as I currently do with their graphic header on top with basic info on kick-off times, venue, refs and TV channel etc. (and for the premier league games, the stats etc. like currently are showing up here) but not the whole long previews. They just take way too much of my time, which I am struggling to find these days.

Will Laporte or Stones be ready for this one? I like Ake but his positional awareness is weak and needs more attention
 
Hopefully at least one of Stones or Laporte can play. Cut out the defensive errors from last night and we’ll be fine, just have to start well and not give them any hope then it should be a reasonably comfortable win.

what I don't get is with Stones and Laporte injured why weaken us further by leaving Walker out .
 
Win this at all cost as after that next two PL games are Chelsea away and Pool away both of those really can go either way...


Soton is rubbish this season, they lost some good players, but they can defend deep and frustrate us like they did a few times last couple games, so a quick start and early goal could do wonders unless we defend like yesterday.

Jesus should be back imo and Sterling imo will not like this constant benching, but no idea where Sterling should start. I prefer Jesus from right, and Grealish from left.

Given Grealish started all games recently, he might sit this one out.

And then Foden and KDB are back, they need playing time too.
