Southampton (N) | FAC | Post Match Thread

I recorded the game so I could re-watch when I got back from Wembley. It's now half time and Shearer saying Southampton were the better team,. Micah saying.Scienza was the bwst olayer in the pitch and Rooney agreeing Southampton were excellent. They've waffled on about the offside goal for them and how it showed their plan was working. Kelly Cates showing the stats which City were the best in everyone but conveniently ignores that and says a combined xg of 0.27. No it wasn't combined it was city only. I must have watched a completely different game, twice now.

Mrs 2112 is sat here and said this is happening everywhere, the media ignore the facts and are infact erasing reality and creating a narrative. By jove I think she's onto something!

Really? Must be exhausting - btw, they're only 23% out. Let's hope they don't get too upset about you exaggerating their error.
you could also say the shot was 30% further out than they estimated. your pedantry is only correct when viewed from one perspective.

Just for your information, the distance of Nico's magnificent shot was actually recorded at 30.1 yards. That's more than 50 percent further out than the distance reported by the BBC. A significant error that you were right to bring to people's attention.

I can't imagine why anyone would try to defend such an error unless they were in someway connected to the person who made it.

Not pedantry, so much as irony - I was alluding to the fact that you were exactly as far out as their comment that had you up in arms in the first place?

Forget the (accurate) maths - I still stand by my feelings (and the point of my OP) that it's pathetic and petty to hunt for things to get riled up about considering that we actually won the bloody match - I mean, moaning about them taking a few yards off a shot is really going to take some beating, even by some of the full-time victims on here.

If you don't rate somebody's opinion, then why care about what they say? Actually, why read their reports anyway? Do you watch Sky post-match just waiting for the 'rag c*nts/red cartel/etcetera' to make statements that annoy you?

Lol - what a strange take :-) - 'defend'. The real point of my post, which apparently escaped you, was about how crazy it is to be bitter about something so trivial.

But, yes - It's a fair cop, guv - it was my father who mowed the grass and cunningly changed stripe size once he reached the edge of the area. Couldn't get it past you though, could he?

Edit: actually, you do have me thinking about the distance as a mathematical thing now - where was that measured at 30.1? If that's true, Pythagoras ain't what it used to be?
