Southampton Vs City Post Match Discussion Thread

Didn't even deserve a point against an injury hit team is just not good enough. Too many players not at it. AGAIN. Couldn't string 2 passes together in the 2nd half. Luckily for us, Chelsea lost and Arsenal have got a run of tricky games, of which we must beat them next week.

Demichelis is just awful. The amount of times he just hoofed it forward is ridiculous. Whilst Nasty is out, it has to be Kompany and Lescott. Proven partnership that works.

Dreading Munich in midweek but its a dead rubber at the end of the day. Rest several players for the Arsenal game - thats more important.

Hardest away so far against a fast raiding well organised side that pressed us, never allowing us to settle. I w3 points as many of us did, but in reality, a point was a fair result I think...

Not a fair result soton deserved to win this but in the circumstances a point is a fair outcome considering we were bossed all over the pitch. Our away form is back to being poor. Simply haven't got the mentality to fight toe to toe with hard working teams.

5 Live commentators said the draw was a fair result. Can't believe I didn't go to the game and read the shit from many spineless posters.

Credit to Southampton for a good performance. We need to get Rodwell up
To match sharpness so that webhave an extra option in midfield.

Vincent will come back better for another game and Silva is on the way back

Only a poor result in context of our previous away results. Overall I'm delighted with the 10 points in the 4 games since Sunderland. So long as we beat Arse and Liverpool I'll take that. All day long.

It's games like that where we really miss Silva.

God help us if anything happens to Fernandinho. Txiki he needs some support!

They played well and deserved the point. I would also prefer Lescott to Demichelis, while Nasty is out injured.

The Arsenal game is going to be huge for us.

Beat Arse n' hole next week and we will be flavour of the month again... Many sides would of capitulated there today, we held out for a point, so it is nowhere near as bad a result as some are claiming on here!

There's hardly anyone on here saying that a point is that bad a result.

There's lots saying we were utter fucking dogshit though. And they're right about that.

Whats happened to our pressing game ? it was none existent today, Southampton gave us a lesson on how to do it.
Thats a big problem. Pressing has also the element of tracking back when you cant get the ball back instantly. Half assed tactics, ideas wont get us anywhere.

Only 1pt behind 2nd place now. Really, really hope Arsenal draw or lose tomorrow.

Some proper negativity on this thread.

Extremely valuable point against IMO the best team we've played all season bar Bayern.

Thought we were extremely resilient and solid as fuck. Their goal was a worldy finish and I have to hold my hands up and say fair fucks to osvaldo. Other than that they didn't get a guilt edged chance to score despite a lot of possession. They threw a variety of situations at us and we handled them well.

Annoyingly we had 3 chances at 0-1 to finish the game but were wasteful. This has cost us the 3 pts.

In the grand scheme of the season a point at st Mary's is and will prove to be a very respectable and significant point. They will finish top 5 and are a very very good side.

I fancy Everton tomorrow. Chelsea dropped points. Utd are hilariously shit.

A decent weekend in my book.

Far too many sub-par performances as well. Not just the team.

Zabaletta = dreadful (chested through ball to Aguero aside).
Milner = Worst he's played for us in years.
Navas = Worst he's played for us.
Dzeko = Dzeko.
Aguero = Wasteful.
Negredo = Worst he's played for us.

Who could hold their head up high after that game? Panty? And, er, Fernandino perhaps?
