I get your sentiment regarding the army but i honestly don’t think the British Army deserve scum. Make a prison a prison not an air bnb , I got slated on here a couple of years ago what prison should be. This has affected too many lives over the years .
It must stop and has got to stop too many innocent families getting ruined . 6ft x 6ft cell . Let them rot they bring nothing to society but pain and misery.

The army aren’t trained for police work-and vice versa, that would be akin to martial law.

Think it’s to do with how long they can keep them in custody without charge. If terrorism was suspected, they can hold him for longer.

Seems a pretty easy decision to charge him anyway and the rest will come out in the wash.

No TACT is not always used for police detention-it’s used because it gives more powers; including paper records, anonymity for officers, special cells used and most importantly a longer PACE clock.

You can be ‘suspected’ of a crime being terror related but detained under normal PACE (24 clock). That could change as the investigation develops and should more significant evidence come to light the detainee may be rearrested and placed under TACT.

The officers involved in these matters are incredibly experienced and highly skilled -they are experts in their fields. We are very good at this in this country-all the evidence gathering, searches, samples etc will be done painstakingly rest assured.

We are seeing a generation now whose parents and grandparents have never worked but have relied on benefits and criminal activity to fund their lifestyle. The kids are now seeing this as the norm and don't know any better.

Stories like this are horrific and I hope they come out of it ok but When men and women beg to be sent to prison so they can get access to mental health and drug treatment on the inside then something is not right on the outside.

Then in the prisons it’s swimming with drugs etc so people dont actually get help they just come out with a much worse habit.

Something is failing society that’s for sure. What’s the answer? who knows but something has to change as otherwise, and as an earlier posted pointed out, we are on a very slippery slope.

Last time I looked they were all just assuming he’s a Muslim. And I imagine it’ll stay that way until it can be confirmed he isn’t.
