Southport attacker pleads guilty to murdering three girls | Sentenced to 52 years in prison

I didn't suggest that did I? Quick bullet in private should do just nicely.

Modern liberals love to deal in hyperbole.

Why you obsessed about modern liberals all the time ?
Some just don’t believe in the death penalty, see it as no deterrent and no place in a civilised society. Fine to disagree without the constant right wing rhetoric.

Let's have a vote about it, the rest of your post is pretty much meaningless babble.

Reform haven’t got round to a death penalty petition yet, they’re still wanting the folk of Lincolnshire to have the ability to vote for the mayor of London and wasting tax payers money in frivolous high court cases about asylum seekers.

Please hold the line.

Get it to a vote and see just how far out of touch the moral signallers are.
Public votes? Yeah cause Brexit worked a treat didn't it? :)

A big bus with a slogan on the side telling us that all the money saved by killing "people" instead of housing them in a secure 'big house' would now go straight to the NHS ought to do the trick, I reckon.

I remember reading an article a few years ago that said the most common trait for someone voting for Brexit wasn’t along class or income lines, it was support for the death penalty.

Not making any follow on point about that, just found it interesting at the time.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the death penalty as long as it's the right person being killed.

In this particular case, we know exactly who and where the right person is...

I'd be more than happy to travel to execute him for them personally this afternoon if our shithouse government had the guts to give the go-ahead. I would expect that a very large proportion of our society would do the same.

That's the crux, you have to be sure and in this case and others there are no question marks anywhere. There is a worrying lack of empathy for victims in this country. If it ain't bothering you people just can't be arsed.

There is a prison guard or two that might disagree that it isn't a deterrent. It would be some trick boiling a kettle when you have 6 feet of dirt on you, being dead brings a few problems as well.

We don't need the death penalty. What we need is stricter privations in place for the most heinous perpetrators; no video games, no television, no freedoms, no exceptions. We can cure this leniency without reinstating capital punishment.

The main reason I don't believe in the death penalty is because I think things like the bastard that killed those three girls should be made to suffer. Keep him in a windowless room with just enough ventilation, give him just enough bland food and water; the basics to keep him alive. Let him decay mentally and physically. I'm a firm believer in rehabilitation, but when this is an impossibility, I don't mind my taxes paying towards the worst of humanity existing in misery for the rest of their days.

I never get this constant right wing call out if someone has an opinion regarding a topical subject such as capital punishment or immigration etc. The left has suddenly become so extreme we are now considered right wing? It's like the Israel/ Palestine topic you don't have to support one or the other but you can decide that killing of innocent people is despicable - especially children.

Rupert Lowe has been pushing it on his Twitter feed recently.

Probably getting in there first so he can claim Farage has nicked his ideas.

Be careful what you wish for. The workd is a very different and worse place.

There's a possibility that the UK will witness beheadings in football stadiums in the next 20/30 years if wishy washy liberals don't stand up to the increasing threats to our way of life.
Only if Farage gets elected as PM.

Problem with the death penalty is that if you use America as a possible example it does not eliminate heinous crimes such as murder. It will do for most sound minded people as we can understand the consequences. But for someone with mental health/ psychotic issues it will never act as a deterrent but merely a punishment

By the same token, not supporting the death penalty doesn’t automatically mean that one finds the murder of anyone not to be despicable.

It’s that all murder is despicable, whether done by lunatics or by states.

At the rate our society is changing for the worse, history will see the abolishment of the death penalty and increasingly over-lenient sentencing as a huge mistake.

That’s factually incorrect. Sentences have on average been getting progressively more severe for a long time now.

Exactly.

The **** that killed those girls will be craving death right now. I'd rather not give him an easy route out.
