Football basically got it's house in order and realised the value of decent merchandising.

However, Swales alluded to this in that documentary in the 70's, but then sold it all off which was a disaster and resulted in legal challenges and a further 2 Club badges.

The souvenier shop back then was a tiny ramshackle thing,but it was still better than the overpriced club store these days that only offers rip off shirts,tracksuits etc and general uber expensive tat.
