Pep has said he told Palmer he would have a more prominent role in the team with Mahrez leaving and that he would get plenty of minutes but that was not enough for Palmer. And that’s fine, he gets to choose what is best for his career. Reports seem to indicate he wanted to be a regular starter and Pep couldn’t promise that.

But it’s not like we didn’t try to keep him with us.

I never argued the case against that (bolded), but I'm not so sure he was offered a more prominent role in the team when Mahrez left, another poster a page or so back said he was told he wouldn't get much game time.

Anyway he has proved he was right to leave for a first team spot, so he won't be arsed and tbf he has praised us and Pep in interviews.

Saka just hasn't got the composure or footballing brain to be able to defend effectively. Every time the ball comes near him in our final third, he just looks to hoof it aimlessly and ends up putting us under pressure, then he ends up being last man and playing the goalscorer onside.
