If he wins one of the two trophies this season, I suspect it will be enough to buy himself enough good faith to stay at the Bernabeu.

If he wins nowt...

His next move, to England, will see him lay down roots for the next five years at least, subject to him continuing his remarkable knack for winning.

It's the biggest decision of his career.

would have thought complete opposite; knock Barca off their perch in the league and/or win the CL, leave like he did with Inter on a high. Comes up short in the CL, stays until he gets that success.

Not if you think you can hold out for the United job at some stage.

He comes up short on both this season and he has a major problem.

The United job is not available yet and unless he's willing to take Spurs or A N Other, that ship will forever sail by coming to City.

And the City job is not one I believe is even yet on offer as the radio report suggests, certainly not an agreement.

Initially, I thought Jose would be United bound within the next couple of years but the more time passes, the more I believe United will either appoint within or certainly someone who has previous there.

Especially with Fergie taking a role upstairs; the question would be whether Jose (and his Ego) could manage a club like United under the one person who has made them as big as they are?

I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Solskjaer or Giggs in three years time with Fergie still around to ensure people still know his presence is there.

I'm a huge Mancini fan and would love to see what we've got at the moment work out, but the idea of Mourinho and the Tranny arriving in the summer is incredibly alluring, despite what would result in the loss of Mancini and most probably Balotelli. The only worry I would have with Mourinho is would he actually have the gall to sack us after a year or two and join the Scum when Taggart fucks off? If he were to join us you'd like to think not, but its the only thing that would worry me about him joining. However, it could be said that if he does join us, the chances of him replacing Slur deplete rather rapidly....

United wouldn't be able to afford the compensation package.

City would put a ridiculous figure to ensure that scenario could ever be entertained.

Mourinho is also a big family guy, he knows it would compromise his and their safety.

So you dont think he is respected or showed humility to the opposition? Has he made mistakes I am sure he has, but preferable not to shake a managers hand than poke somebody in the eye from behind. In the main he has behave well, hardly criticised referees and been refreshingly honest interviews.

I'm not interested in how well behaved the manager is, not in the slightest. Ferguson has behaved like a grade A twat for twenty years and there's not a United fan around that gives a shit. Why? Because he has brought success and that's precisely what Mourinho would do here. Bluemoon doesn't represent the majority of City fans on the issue, just as it didn't on the Tevez issue. I know Mancini is quite popular, but turning your noses up at the best in the business? Get real.

I see it the other way round to be honest. I think if he wins the league, he'll go gunning for even more power at the Bernabeu, and if he doesn't get it, which i suspect he won't, he'll walk. If he wins nothing, he'll stay there and go again.

A question - when is their next election ?

If he wins nothing, he will be sacked.

I'm not sure what more power you think Jose would require?

He did for Valdano and unless he wants Ramos and Casillas to now be sold, there's nothing left to give.

Certainly a viable option.

If they don't go within, it's going to be a big name that's for sure and those who think otherwise are just kidding themselves.

Regardless of any lingering influence Fergie may or may not have at the time when he hands over his managerial post, many a top manager out there will want the opportunity to manage them. Even moreso if the Glazers were to leave.
