Spanish Mundo ABC: Mourinho made a deal vith Manchester City

Re: Mourinho

All very interesting. I think back to the Noel Gallagher interview with Mario. Mario curiously says Mourinho "wants to come here".

Re: Mourinho

The thing is our owner could very well have said Mancini is in for the long run, and they may be content with what he's doing here. BUT... if Mourinho made himself available maybe that would change our owners plans?
It's no use replacing a good manager with another good manager. But if a great one comes along... well we'll see in a few months time won't we?

An maybe Mancini himself wants to go back home, who knows? José has recently said he wants to come back to the UK as he and his family loved it there. He's getting older and has won pretty much everything so this time out he might be looking for a long term relationship with a club.

Re: Mourinho

The only way I think this is possible is if Roberto has decided to leave City for personal reasons.

Maybe due to his father's illness. If so then our boss would try his hardest to get Mou as a replacement.

Expect this speculation to increase. I work in Abu Dhabi and locals have been telling me, since Christmas, that Mourinho will be our manager next season and ladyboy will be coming with him.

Believe what you want, time will tell.

But for now f@ck the speculation and get behind the team.

got a sneak feeling you may be correct.
*cough* Horse-shit *cough*

Hope your cold gets better, Richard

Re: Mourinho

Didn't the Spanish expert on Talksport yesterday say that he was absolutely convinced that Mourinho was definitely leaving in the summer.. and that City was his most likely destination?

This is what I found on talksport?

The self-proclaimed Special One has been one of the names placed in contention for the vacant job at Stamford Bridge since Andre Villas-Boas was axed at the start of the month.

But the Real Madrid boss, whose side is leading La Liga and has one foot in the Champions League semi-finals, is keeping his options open.

Mourinho, speaking on Italian TV, said: "A return to Inter? A homecoming is always possible: Inter is my home and one day I could return. I am a fan and like the fans are now I am sad, but I hope that next season will be better."

The ever-modest Mourinho even considered his treble-winning season at the San Siro as the reason for the extra pressure placed on the managers that followed him - including Leonardo, Rafa Benitez and Claudio Ranieri who have failed to succeed in the Inter hotseat.

"Our season was unique and fantastic and for the new coaches and players it can be a burden," said Mourinho.

I think Mancini deserves another season based on this one, but there are question marks there and Jose is the best in the business so if we can get jose in then we should. Otherwise, stick with mancini

But that's the problem. You can't just give him another season as next season is the last one of his current contract. So they either have to give him a new one or drop him, unless they only give him a rolling 12-month contract. But that would send out the wrong message at this stage.

Mourinho won't go back to Chelsea as there is no way he and Abramovich could work together again. I heard around Xmas time that he'd approached us but given his history with us the Sheikh would want cast-iron proof that he is going to take the job I suspect before committing. But if he gets that then there would be no hesitation.
