When did Foden hit the woodwork last night? (It wasn't when he scored btw) I had a build a bet last night and Virgin haven't paid me out. The only one I was waiting for was City to hit the woodwork. I thought fair enough, but I've just checked Opta stats and it said Phil hit the woodwork.. just once, but that's all it needed. There's so many twisting rules to these kind of bets I know, but they say they go off opta stats. Just can't remember him hitting the woodwork. Johnny did before Akes disallowed goal but again, that must of disappeared with it. Strange.

Apologies if its already been mentioned but did you notice Bernie,in the background, when Haaland gets that wonderful high kick goal ?
Bernie just puts his hand on his head and must be thinking "WTF & how did he manage that ?"
Have a look its quite funny.

On reflection, the best thing about last night was that we actually created a few decent chances for Haaland from good old fashioned right footed footed crosses from a right footed winger.

Watching Pep's post match presser I realised once again that the PL is wasting its time with its 115 charges and should instead face facts that City's domination of the game in recent years has nothing whatsoever to do with any imaginary financial offences. Wenger got part of it right: we are a clever club, well run and well managed. But we dominate because our owner and board help in every way possible simply to win matches and titles - and they are helping the best manager/coach ever. That's the secret of our success.

I found it interesting last night when Akanji started standing on the ball and not progressing it forward to try and lure them out, at first I thought it was odd and time wasting but after 15 seconds or so I think it got into the opposition heads and they started to press and come out of the 11 at the back they were settled into. Not sure if this was a Pep instruction or just very clever by Akanji, but it worked as Haaland's second came from luring them out and hitting at pace. However, is this a tactic we can use in the PL? I am not sure, we are facing more and more 11 behind the ball and long clearances to fast players, so it could be used but I am not sure the PL teams would come out of their defensive setting. Could be a pretty boring spectacle if we are 1-0 and just stand on the ball waiting on the opposition to try and press :)
It was pep instructed, could see him on the touchline telling him to do it.

Was at the sparta v hearts game a few years ago
We were drinking outside the pub when we saw a group walking up the road.
Suddenly they rolled their beanie hats down into balaclavas and tried to storm the pub.
I don't think they expected the resistance they got and ended up running off again sharpish.
Only slight casualty was Lord George Foulkes who took a couple of slaps
So no harm done
I was near that incident.
I was also in that pub in Rotterdam when the Feynoord casuals stormed thinking it would have no resistance as well
They were not so brave as well after the initial charge.

Did anyone tell them their team lost 5 nil? They weren't watching the game, just the conductor!

I don't get it. It's not about football. The stadium is just a venue for their organised and choregraphed choir singing/chanting. God I'm old - I remember when you used to watch football for pleasure and didn't have to be degree qualified in geo politics and international accounting.
I thought it was quite good from where I was sat with my cousin who is a sparta fan . I thought they brought a bit of atmosphere considering they got bummed. It's only like us doing the poznan which I think made a guest appearance last night. It was dead as disco in the block I was in . I actually thought it would have been good to go in the away end with my cousin . Block 324 you could hear a pin drop .
