Ha ha, I'm a 48 year old man who has done nothing wrong. How often have you been on one then to know who is usually on them?

The most mind numbing, patronising, dull, waste of 4 hours I've ever suffered. Then again I really shouldn't speed so fair play it's better than the points. You still have to pay the fine though, as a "course fee". Got caught twice in a week at that rascal camera at the Kearsley/Clifton exit for M60.

I did one at Carrington a few years ago. Wasn't too bad to be honest. I was expecting to be told of all the percentages of increased death rates and shown videos of what happens if you speed, whilst being spoken to like a naughty child. However, they had a bit of a laugh about it all and discussed ways not to get caught in future.

Just don't be the person who questions everything they say

Speed doesn't kill, not driving to road conditions kills, just another bullshit money making scheme, oh and I'm due to go on one of these soon as Ive been caught recently.

the crass posts on here prove my point.

-- Thu Dec 08, 2011 12:54 am --

the crass posts on here prove my point.

How I'm looking forward to doing this tomorrow for speeding whilst lost in Preston looking for a conference venue. (37 in a 30 zone on a dual carriageway but no-one but myself to blame)

I opted to do mine in Carrington, uncomfortably close to the swamp. Has anyone else done one?

I'm from near Preston mate and i know exactly which speed camera has done you. Right in the centre of town on a hill, 2 lane road that does look like a carriageway.

Anyway got one myself in January, got lasered coming off the motorway(?) doing 39 in a 30 a month back.

Certainly agree with that last bit. Most people there when I went were 30s and a few older. Everyone held their hands up to their own stupidity barring one 40 odd year old who was so resentful towards the people taking the course. Even made out he was a better driver than everyone else there. Complete T**T.

The course was actually quite good. Everyone learnt something. And I fully agree with them.

-- Thu Dec 08, 2011 12:57 am --

I am booked in to do one in Bolton at the end of January

Did mine by the Reebok. To the OP. Dont argue with them or your out and back to getting three points. They do come out with some intersting stuff but most of it will be four hours of your life you will never get back. They talk like they have never gone 1 mph above the limit and are whiter than white.

The blokes who took my course were great. They fully admitted that they are human and have lapses in concentration etc.
And they aren't coppers. They were volunteers i believe so why anyone would argue is beyond me.

Got snapped doing 37 in a 30 zone by an unsigned camera(legal) on a street with one 30 mile an hour sign hidden by trees(illegal). It was dark, poorly lit and at 2am. No excuse though.

Couldn't be arsed to contest it (i broke the law after all) so took the speed course.

A lot of it was informative but it did seem very "speed kills" based using a lot of old facts and figures including the stopping distances from the highway code (which were worked out in olden times where cars had milk bottle tops for brakes).

As we all left the hall one bloke drove off with wheels spinning...don't think it worked for him!

It is also age based so all of my group were 30+.

Got caught doing 58 on the M60 Bredbury junction where it goes to a 50 for a bit. Got the letter today offering me 3pts and £60 fine or the course for £80 i think it is.

Been driving 16 years and first offence. Debating whether to take the hit with the points or go for the course. Got 28 days to reply so think i'll get Christmas out of the way first!
