Sporting CP (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Just how do you go from dominating them in the first half to getting thrashed ? well it's called not taking your chances and having an absolutely terrible defensive structure, this has been coming all season, Pep surely has to sort it now, yes there are injuries but it's still unacceptable.
Pep is unable to react to anyone that stands up to his team. He thinks teams should all stand back and applaud our great possession and passsing skills. Sporting just decided to front us up and we collapsed. Nothing complicated but Pep couldn't do anything about it. Deer in the headlights

I knew Haaland was missing that. He didn't look right all night

If he'd scored that we'd have got at least a point

Hopefully we've hit rock bottom and the only way is up

Best first half all season. Reasonably compact in defence excepting the odd mistake. Then just after half time we just lost it in a few mad minutes. If we had scored that penalty it would have helped a lot but as it went on some began to lose their heads, even in the Match Thread.. Kev was brought on just to calm things down. Foden was magnificent.

Pep needs eleven fit players in the correct positions for Brighton. I'm struggling to see where he is going to get them.
What must not happen is things beginning to unravel or fall apart psychologically. We need men to be disciplined and stand up. No hiding.

Thought today was bonfire night not halloween. Horror show that.
Brighton, Spurs and Liverpool next, play like we are at the moment and the league will be gone by the end of the month.

I think selling a lot of the promising young talents just at the point where they’d become first team players could have been a rare mistake from us

Palmer, Rogers, Lavia better than the players we signed to replace them.

On we go though…
Both Lavia and Palmer wanted to leave and Palmer wasn't the same player that is currently playing for Chelsea. Rogers looks useful for Villa but the issues were he looked way off in starring for City despite a promising pre-season.

He is usually Mr reliable, miles off it tonight, tracking runners would help
Yeah he has a lot of credit in the bank, but he just looked so uninterested and off it tonight and what a shame for the young lad next to him who suffered for it.

This is the moment we are supposed to be behind our team not piling on like the rags and the media will be doing ffs ,some of the gibberish on the matchday was a disgrace surely not even blue fucking hell have we not witnessed worse than that before ..
Well said. We are in a bad moment. Of course we have made mistakes but everything that could go wrong has gone wrong. Our strongest defence in recent years has been Walker, Stones, Dias, Ake with Rodri in front them. We have lost them all as well as KDB and Bobb. Shit happens. We will have to hang in there and buy players in January. The fans must get behind the team. The media hate us and will revel in our problems. Our players and fans need to close ranks.
