How is that mad? Obviously people can have a different opinion, but it’s not “mad”, surely? Not with the way we’re playing and how knackered/in pain many of our players are. And also considering how good Sporting are, with 10 wins out of 10 in the league, scoring 35 and conceding just 3. Also on the same points as us in the CL. Definitely not a mad opinion.
When I wrote this, ~40% of voters had this down as a defeat, that's mad to me.

Luckily since then it's reduced down to 23% which is a little more sensible; but still, having us down as getting beat just feels strange to me, and that's not me saying it from the point of view of expecting everyone to blindly assume we win every game.

City 2-1 win.

Im curious as to why you think this, it is exactly the same situation as ten haag was in, hes done well in a second tier league, has got alot of hype surrounding him, supposed to be the next big thing, there is nothing to suggest he is going to be any different and this is why i dont get it, everything the press is saying about him they said about ten haag.
Ten Bob won the dutch league 3 years running and was literally seconds from a champions league final...

But would you have assumed we'd have lost any of those games ahead of time?

I also never said it was impossible; but I can't get on board with anyone having it down as a defeat, let alone 23% of those who've voted.
More than 50% of us don't think we will win, that is because our form has been awful.

The bookies give Sporting about 23% chance to win. It's not outrageous to think so. I don't think a loss is likely but it is not highly unlikely, say only 5-10%.

We all know what this team is capable of, but we have been terrible so far this season.

Injuries and loss of form has buggered up our rhythm.

I will settle for a draw

If we play our game to our tempo,& feed the Big Man up front regularly from the beginning.

City win :0)

Forget about all the other stuff and nonsense!!!???

Keep it Simple!!!! :0)

I've explained why mate. I think the main difference is at board level where they will appreciate what he needs and back him. It could be he makes the same mistakes as Ten Hag, recruits poorly, doesn't deliver results and abandons his plan. But my concern is that they will identify what he needs and deliver it and he'll improve things. I hope I'm wrong. It's a completely different challenge and the pressure at the club has led to managers both experienced and raw completely struggling.
