If they're good to go, I'd put Doku and Savio on the wings. Move Nunes to midfield. Might not offer the control but offers pace and physicality. I will try KDB if fit behind Haaland but if not fit then try something different with Macca in that spot. Back 4 is entirely up to who's fit and available. Maybe a fresh youngster like Simpson Pusey can add something. Rico and Josko at fullbacks with Kova in midfield partnership with Nunes. Pep won't do this but it is what it is.
 
Hard to pick a team for this. Whoever we go with, it feels like it will be a fairly rough ride.

For only two reasons am I bothered if we win or not.

1. I always hate seeing City lose.
2. I could not stand City losing to Amorim - a "to be " rags manager.

without point 2 I'd be happy if he left all the regular first team at home and played the kids - treat this sham of a trophy with less priority than the Caribou cup.
 
We need Phil to play in the middle. Gundogan not to play. Savinho to man up. Kovacic to stop taking so many touches and up the tempo. Kyle to sort himself out.

Nunes certainly offers pace, but he doesn't offer physicality.

Not with us but he had a midfield presence both at Sporting and Wolves. Perhaps we see a bit more now that he has gained some confidence (albeit at LW rather than MF).
 
They are flying and we are shite, what could possibly go wrong. Team looks agitated but with each other? Is Peps demeanor causing unrest maybe?

Sadly, Phil is not the player of last season. Maybe family issues for such a young man. I would rest him and The Viking for this one.
