Spurs’ new stadium

Luckily we avoided such ownership .... Shinawatra was pure as driven snow etc ... ;-)
He had very soft hands for an alleged mass murderer when I met him outside our ground, suppose that's why he'd have employees.

Strangely we seemed to get nothing like the media vitriol we get now, must be because we weren't a threat.

I miss the days when clubs were owned by the local car dealer or brewery. And players earned less than a bank manager. And we had dangerous stadiums.

Just thought it interesting you put Ashley on (?) but left Lewis off.

I guess because the focus of the discussion was very much on those who play an active part in their clubs, in the boardroom. Lewis (like Kroenke and others who might not be pure as driven snow) is very much a passive owner.

I have a friend who's got some connections to the senior execs at Spurs and his understanding is that once Spurs move into the new stadium and all of the move issues are ironed out, the club will be up for sale. Idea being they'll be able to package a top 4 team with a state of the art stadium and NFL games into one bundle and make a small fortune from it. Potentially explains why they've been reluctant to add to the playing staff as they'll be shortly getting rid. No idea who will want it, but I suspect they won't be short of interest.

Don't think it will be to Arabs, though.

But then again, business is business.

He just gets distracted by counting his profits from all of you lot.

Spurs have been available for some time. Was a rumour that Facebook were interested awhile ago
Now saddled with a debt approaching £1B It’s not going to be easy

It's a cliche but any football club* (any company for that matter) is for sale at the right price.

I'm not sure that Levy especially wishes to sell his shareholding (c. 25%) but it is very possible that Lewis feels that ENIC have taken it as far as they can and reached a point of maximum ROI.

* With the exception, perhaps, of clubs owned by the fans.

Spurs are going to need Brighton to make the semi finals of the FA Cup or they have another issue heading their way. They are due to play them at home the weekend of the semi finals. If Brighton win their quarter final then the game will be postponed. If they don't and get knocked out then Spurs will have to apply for a postponement as Wembley is obviously already booked for the weekend, plus there are games scheduled for the following midweek meaning they cant move it to the Monday night either.

Yep. Hopefully Millwall can do the business.

Come on Milwall, can't ever remembering typing that before :-)

What are the penalties for not being to fulfil a fixture these days 3-0 loss and fine? or as its spuds the FA will meekly rearrange and brush under the carpet no doubt.

Would it matter who goes through tho? As Wembley is booked anyway? Apologies if I'm being dense.

If Brighton won they would be playing the semi final so the league game would be rearranged anyway.

If Brighton are knocked out and able to fulfil the fixture it spurs that can't due their incompetence the league should come down on them like a ton of bricks but wont.

Said it before and I’ll say it again. This is an absolute disgrace.

Only two clubs would be able to get away with this, and the other one is the dippers.
