I mean, I have no expertise or insight into the running of these project builds; but how bad do you have to be to estimate £450m and it end up over 1 billion.
It is a good question, do any of our financial chaps know what variables could cause such stuff to happen? Further to that did Spurs likely know? or should have been aware of the possible issues like whatever has cropped up? Would you chaps say, someone deserves the sack? or is it just how it is?

They probably took the lowest bid and the company that bid it had no idea what would really be involved

Wasn’t Wembley the same? Multiplex tendered at a fixed price of circa 500mill. Ended up being 1bill.

I’m an accountant, not on this scale of zeroes but fuck me id be out the door sharpish if involved. Yes you put contingency in, but 100%? Fuck off

Being a building contractor I always make good money when there are 'change orders'. Maybe the original plan was not specific enough

I wonder what the real final cost of the new stadium will be
450 m became 800m.Then before the latest delays 1 bil was widely quoted.
Reckon final cost will be 1.2 bil.
That's going to take some repaying.

Par for the course. Wembley costs doubled, HS2 costs more than doubled.
Why?
Mainly due to employing contractors and buying materials for the lowest price but many more reasons besides. Completion dates are always far to optimistic as well.

Son Heung-min was playing for Korea u23 in Asian games and if they win the Gold he doesnt have to do miltary service. Into the Semis now after beating Uzbekistan 3-4 after ET, some lad got sent off for throwing a water bottle at the Ref . Its mostly u23s but hes the one older wildcard player at 26
