Winks is still youngish. Thinks he has more time to improve further. Needs some decent cover around him.

He's a very good squad player who could always be relied on to play a big part over the course of a season. But he doesn't have real star quality. He doesn't have enough about him, IMO, to be the main man in a team with title winning aspirations.

@JimB Is their any info for your plans for the summer, player purchase wise. I really think you are at the hard limit of what your current squad can do with investment pretty much the only remedy. Asking for Poch to do it again next season and suddenly you are Arsenal in Wengers final 12 or so years. It would be reckless in my humble opinion.

For the health of the top end staying strong in general i think you have to find the cash from somewhere, let alone for your own ambitions as a club.
They should get around £80m for Eriksen, so the chipmunk will have around £5 to spend. That's if he hasn't fucked off as well of course.

In the current market, given that Coutinho (who is certainly no better than Eriksen) went to Spain for a fee of £105m rising to £140m, I'd expect Eriksen to go for similar.

But sure, Poch will only get to spend £5 regardless.

Only problem with that is Coutinho's been a very expensive mistake by Barcelona, he's been shit and spends most of his time on the bench. So you're unlikely to get Perez paying similar.

In spite of their most recent results, I am very impressed with what Poch has done with the team this, and last, season.
To be just a couple of points away from us after 2/3s of the season with NO player investments is worthy of a lot of respect in my book.
I agree.

Well done Spurs.
Steady on there now, "f**k spurs" more like.

Ashley Young wiping out sergio so badly he had to have knee surgery,in the box no pen
Last season kane and ali leg breakers,in total we had 10/11 leg breakers on us and not a single player sent off some not even a carded but we somehow have a lot of reds against us and i don't think we are a dirty team,we have 70-80% possession but somehow have more cards than the other side,it's mind boggling what the refs do to us
Back to kane he will never get sent off,if one of ours had done to him what he did yesterday every media outlet would make sure our players got a lengthy ban
I think you and Liverpool have the least amount of cards in the league. This victim stuff should be saved only for the Scousers Karen!

Fully agree but level playing field?

Look at the state of Walker's & Kun's red's last season, just another example of PIGMOL doing what they want.

Yeah mate, I wouldn’t argue with that. And all the play-acting feeds inconsistency. If Azpilicueta had done the customary - clutched his face and dropped like a stone - no doubt it would have been a red card. Credit to the Chelsea lad.

What pissed me off most last year was Kane and Alli getting away with potentially crippling tackles against us.

It's amazing though, we commit more fouls than our direct opponents in nearly every game, even when playing the dirtiest teams in the league. Same with cards.

The problem with that theory is, firstly Barcelona had £200m burning a hole in their pocket from the Neymar transfer, secondly that was a January transfer, and lastly it hasn't worked out well for Barca.

You get in the title race often but bottle it when the pressure gets going this time of the season, you either view yourselves as potential champions or just a top 6 team, you are stuck in the middle ,as i've said before you need a proven trophy winning manager to shake you up

Most Spurs fans take a long view. Not long ago we were a pretty bad side. We've improved. That makes us happy. Maybe next year Pochettino will be at Madrid and we'll have Eddie Howe managing us and we'll be back to the bottom half of the table. Or maybe we'll be champions. Who knows?

What matters to me is that I enjoy this Spurs side, the players, the manager, the culture, the way the club is doing things in a different way from other clubs. It won't last forever but while it does I enjoy it. Would I like a trophy? Sure. But as Pochettino said it is not the only reason for existing. Despite what Talksport and some on here will tell you.

Coutinho also signed an extension months before he left, whereas Eriksen will be heading into the final year of his deal. Spurs will be very lucky to get £80m, if anything I think he'll be closer to Mahrez's price.

I'm highlighting the difference between spurs and yourselves in terms of ref decisions, not one of ours can get away with anything like what kane did or his and ali's tackles on us in both games last season,if i'm still harping on about it in 5yrs kill me lol
