The missus went today. She was very impressed. She's just happy for the club to get out of Wembley as she cannot stand the stadium and additional travel time. From the pics and videos, it does look spectacular. So it should considering the costs involved.

Personally, no matter how good the new White Hart Lane is, it will always be the worst away game in London for me. Shit ground to get away to/from, no decent boozers nearby that allow away fans (dislike the Irish Centre) and the fans are , in general, humourless nobs. Even prefer Palace away. Certainly nowhere near as good a day out as Arsenal, Fulham, West Ham, Chelsea and QPR.

@JimB There may have been an explanation elsewhere, but if so I've missed it. I see that the new stadium is cash free, and using what seem to be payment cards issued to Spurs fans. How does it work for away fans? Or indeed just the day trippers? Contactless bank cards too?

We trialled prepaid cards. It didn't get rolled out after the trial.

let’s see how many of the “new” fans turn out for mid week and or cup games after the novelty has worn out. Depends on success of course but no way will those 176k members take up the slack game after game. The Spuds, unlike the Rags and the Dippers, wont have enough Tourists to fill the ground for every game, a bit like us to be fair. Even the Dippers dropped about 10k in one League game not too long ago when they were shite and challenging for fuck all, Glory Hunters showing their true colours.

I will be interested to see where there main camera gantry is as I suspect they'll do a rags and have the cameras blind spots being the empty seat sections.
