Spurs 2018/19

Liverpool are scared of Spurs.

They have seen Arsenal, Chelsea and City pass them on and off the pitch.

Spurs are catching them. It wont be long before Spurs too overtake them

Not until you stop Lloris throwing the ball in his own net when they play them.

It's a long game

In five years Spurs will be a bigger club than Liverpool.

it will be City/United followed by Spurs/Arsenal followed by Chelsea/Liverpool

Just signed up to take a look at what you guys were saying about last night's match, and you seem a fairly reasonable bunch compared to most opposition fans so thought I'd say hi.

Unable to view the actual match thread from last night, but guessing that's not available to new people?

Did many of you go to the game last night, and if you did, what were your thoughts on the stadium? I was at the Palace game last week, block 113 next to the away support. They all looked to be enjoying the safe standing throughout the away section, but not sure what the other facilities are like for away fans. Because the stadium will be unsegregated for some events I assume we've put the same amenities in there as there is in the rest of the stadium, but would be interesting to hear for sure.

I know we've made the away changing rooms the most basic we're allowed to do under the rules, but I guess we're not doing the same for the fans

The stadium is good but should be for the money spent.

The floors on the concourse are slippy, that is my only complaint if I was to make one. It was split drinks last night but in wet weather or when winter comes it could be a problem.

The atmosphere was good but not constant as I thought it could have been as it the first big game at the place.

Very impressed. Safe standing great. Very easy to access the stadium, despite the airport type scanners, didn't see many queues. Good bar and grub. Quick service. Toilets were flooded, not sure why. Looked a bit like Westfield Shopping Centre from a distance. The rake of the stands is spot on and gives the stadium quite an intimidating feel. The walk back to Seven Sisters was a bit grim "if I hear fucking Yid Aaaaarmyyy one more time", but they seemed to get the fans away quickly & efficiently. And whoever said the Beehive is an away pub is a liar..couldn't be more Spurs (good burgers though). Decent atmosphere but the Celtic style sing off between the ends is a bit....meh.

Decent ground, but it's no Maine Road.

Proper Spuds media love-in today some saying its the biggest result in their history , which only confirms our standing in football , quite a few of the media are confident Spuds will finish the job next week , i think they are going to be disappointed.

I think it more confirms football hacks’ standing as among the thickest twats around. No one connected to Spurs has said or would say such a thing. Not least because the tie is only at halftime. I will concede, though, that last night was the biggest result in the stadium’s history. ;-)

And, for what it’s worth, I still make City favourites to go through. Even if Spurs were to score an away goal, you still have it well within you to score 3 or more.

No telling whether or not Spurs might have a better team. Just possible, too, that the increased use of, and added income from, such a flexible stadium could help to bridge the financial gap. But Spurs will never be a bigger club than Liverpool unless or until they enjoy a sustained period of dominance - winning multiple domestic and CL titles and gaining a huge, global fan base.

I've attended all the Premier League stadiums, plus 16 of the 18 Bundesliga and the usual overrated suspects from Spain and Italy.

I also travelled to the 2002 World Cup, and the new White Hart Lane reminds me of the wow factor when I first experienced the Japanese stadiums, which at the time, were vastly superior to their European counterparts.

My only gripe (and the recent ETIHAD upgrade is equally guilty), is that the increase in capacity isn't reflected in any visible road or rail improvements.

The supporters coaches were parked on West Road, but by 11:15, we had only moved about 100 yards.
Eventually, we arrived at the ETIHAD for 4am. meaning that I got home quicker when I travelled on previous Thomas Cook day trips to Juventus, Napoli, and Copenhagen.

Exactly.

Within 5 years.

Welcome. As far as I know there's nothing stopping you viewing in-match threads. Did you find the thread? there's a specific forum for them (click on 'forums', bottom of the page). Here's a link anyway: https://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/...am-vs-man-city-champs-league-09-04-19.339783/

However, if you value your sanity you'll satisfy your curiosity and then never go on a Bluemoon match thread again. Ever...

.

Yeah, that's a pain in the arse. I would have thought that official away coaches could be prioritised and given a fast route away. Hope they get it sorted.

There are no road upgrades planned that I know of. Idea is very much to discourage people driving to the stadium. Controlled Parking Zone now massively extended. High Road closed to traffic near the stadium before and after the game. As to public transport:

- More frequent Victoria Line trains to Seven Sisters and Tottenham Hale.
- Major upgrade to Tottenham Hale interchange and White Hart Lane overground station (under construction).
- New trains, with more capacity, planned on overground to White Hart Lane.
- New platform at Northumberland Park. Double the number of trains.
- New station at Meridian Water, 10-15 mins from the stadium (to open later this year).
- Eventual plan for Northumberland Park to be on Crossrail 2, if it goes ahead.
- Park and ride schemes to and from various stations and other sites.

In addition to which, Spurs are very much trying to encourage fans to get to the area earlier before a game stay later after. Stadium bars and catering remained open until 11.30pm last night - it's one of the reasons why they haven't opted for the usual shite at overinflated prices that you get at most stadiums. The High Road was still heaving with people when I made my way to the tube. I appreciate, though, that that's of no use to anyone facing a 4 or 5 hour journey home who needs to get on the road asap.

As an aside , Lloris should be investigated , he threw a goal in for Liverpool and the saves our penalty , any truth that Harry Redknapp had a hand in the brown envelope deal :)

I went last night and discarding all other comments; Amstel was 4 stripes and a sausage roll full of sausage was 3 stropes 50 so excellent. Don't bother with the nearby pubs as they are hovels.
