Who knows where we will all be in five years?
The point is that Spurs do have the possibility of being a leading global brand. Particularly if they get the NFL franchise.
And perhaps the investment from a Facebook or similar
Of course we could also go back to being mid table entertainers that we were 5 years ago.
I see what you're saying, but is it going to work like that?
If 'you' get an NFL franchise is the money going to go to Spurs or your holding company or whatever? Will they say that money goes towards paying for the stadium?
As for big sponsors, they want to see success first, or the obvious potential for it. That means owners investing first to get you that far; I don't see that at Spurs (but maybe I'm not looking properly).
I've not analysed your owner so can't claim insight, but I don't get the impression he's looking to speculate to accumulate on a big scale. I get the impression he's like the American owners; willing to challenge for top 4 as this can be done from the clubs own revenues and still gives a nice profit.
Luckily for Spurs many other top clubs are having issues atm, but how long will that continue?
This summer might tell us much. Record profits and no excuse of possible stadium cost over-runs as an excuse not to spend.
