Spurs 2018/19

I’m not sure that’s the best example, Sergio has never done that before or since, something Luiz did that day set him off.
Alli seems to put his studs into another player every time I watch him, including for England. He’s just a nasty player, IMO.
What is particularly annoying though is that he goes down screaming like a girl if he gets touched.
One of your players has come out and said that they were sent out to kick City players the other night, doesn’t surprise me.

Alli is certainly no stranger to diving for a penalty (though he’s not as bad in that respect as he once was - largely because his reputation subsequently denied him three or four nailed on penalties that weren’t given). But he’s not the kind that “screams like a girl”. Quite the opposite. He’lll just give it back.

As to Spurs being “sent out to kick City players”, I saw no evidence of any concerted, premeditated such plan. Certainly no more evidence of that than there was that City players were detailed to roughhouse Kane at every opportunity. As I said, I don’t complain about it. It’s what top teams do.

As to Aguero, I disagree that he has no form. He was guilty of another awful, deliberate, jumping, knee high tackle on Luiz. Not to mention that humdinger of an elbow on Winston Reid.

Again, I disagree. What witch hunt? A bit of publicity for a day or two, as is only natural. No more than would happen to any other player.

Maybe Kane is an exception. Because he is England’s top goal scorer and captain. Nevertheless, I read an article earlier (written by a journo who clearly doesn’t like or rate Kane) criticising him for “elbowing” Fernandinho after the latter had originally elbowed Kane on the back of the head and then deliberately leant on his head / neck as he got up. Barely the slightest criticism of Fernandinho.
Fernandinho has been getting criticised everwhere for the elbow. Rightly so.
England's top goal scorer? Thought it was rooney?

I was specifically referring to the article that I read. The criticism was largely of Kane.

And, as if it needed clarification, Kane is England’s current top scorer. ;-)

Sissoko said that their game plan was to “tickle the ankles” of the City players. Pretty obvious what that means.
As for the Reid non-elbow, now you’re just taking the piss, he never touched him.

Okay, just had another look at it. You’re right....it wasn’t an elbow. The elbow missed. So, instead, it ended up as a forearm smash to the throat. If you try to tell me that Aguero “never touched him”, then I’m afraid that it is you who is taking the piss! ;-)

Regardless, the point still stands. It was a deliberate, forceful swing of the arm at an opposition player’s head / neck. So please don’t try to make out that Aguero is an angel who erred only the once!

As to “tickling the ankles”, that’s the kind of thing that Fernandinho does all the time and very effectively. Tactical fouling. Spurs and City are both known for it.

Kane takes an unbelievable amount of punishment from opposition players. Hardly ever complains. Always gets on with the game. Alli too.

Punishment , he falls over with the slightest of touches..... only punishment he takes is when he throws him self to the floor time and time again .....

Agreed that he sometimes goes to ground easily to win fouls. Shithousery 101.

Doesn’t mean that he isn’t also on the end of an awful lot of rough treatment and bad fouls.

And gives as good as he gets. Both with the physical and the snide.

Not really seeing how Sergio's "love-love"bromance relationship with sideshow bob is excessively relevant to the original point being made that Kane either arrived late or tried to do Delph and has form for it with the sterling horror tackle that somehow because he plays for England he got away with. City v chelsea in 2013 is irrelevant to a spurs thread on a city forum.

He’s trying to justify Kane’s behaviour by pointing out the misbehaviour of Sergio.

Clutching at straws.

I disagree. If you read it hes saying that top clubs have to mix the rough with the smooth. If you rough Kane or Aguero up they will give as good back. That's what top strikers do. Shearer, Van Horseface, Henry, Wright, Ibrahimovic, Rooney etc. Unless youre a wimp like Van Persie.

Im sure people were born in the 2000s because the physical side of the game has always been there. Strikers and defenders have to be smarter in how they foul these days. Ramos, Otamendi and Jan are prime examples for defending. The blatant fouls by strikers like Big Dunc and Kevin Davies are long gone these days

It’s relevant because some on here were trying to claim that City players don’t do that kind of thing.

Not trying to justify Kane’s behaviour. I’ve readily conceded how he is. I’m just pointing out double standards where I see them.

Personally, I wish shithousery didn’t exist; that the professional game was as honest and honourable as the day is long. But shithousery does exist. And the professional game isn’t honest and honourable. And all the top teams and managers and players partake.

If anything, 99.9% of people on here 'wish he hadn't of got injured'. I'd much prefer Kane playing next week than being out.

So stop trying to make an issue of absolutely nothing.

There’s a bit of a bizarre myth about Spurs being better without Kane. Anyone who saw the good run of results that Spurs had after Kane was injured would tell you that we actually played badly against a bunch of average to poor teams - especially at home to Leicester. We were just baled out by a great run of form by Son.

No question that the team is at its best when Kane is fully fit and playing. You should be delighted that he’s out.

there's certainly no myth about your shit run since we came back though ;-)

I didn’t say that, either.

And I don’t think anyone else did.
I'll say it, granted I've not read the past few pages but I assume it's about Kane.

He was a dirty cünt all game trying to "do" half our team in.

If any player, whether they play for or against us, acts like that and then they get hurt themselves... Tough shit.

It's like how Scholes was always given a pass by the media and pundits, laughing off his horrific tackling. It's the same with Kane, even Alli too.

Remember, the two of them in the home game last season... It's no coincidence.

Since ‘he’ came back, you mean?

No, indeed. We have been shite! It’ll be interesting to see whether we’re over that slump now. Even without Kane, five of our remaining six games are very winnable. If we fail to finish top four, we’ll have only ourselves too blame.
