Spurs (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Disappointed as the next City fan but thisisn’t the Scottish French or German league. We can’t win the league every season and perhaps this is the season to miss out. We don’t have a Devine right to win the league.

If it carries on into the next season then we can worry. Can’t put my finger on what’s the problem. To my amateur eyes the teams playing with a lack of zest and personality. Is this because they are jaded? Are there problems behind the scenes? Who knows.

One thing I wish Pep would do is stop constantly changing the team. It’s not helping.

It's Pep, and has been for a while.

Sending out teams with no consistent plan, shorn of putting players in their natural positions.

We have one of the greatest strikers in the world and consistently fail to play close enough to him for him to receive the ball in front of goal.

That's on Pep. Kev is slowing down at a rate of knots but there is nobody else who is able to create.

We are struggling for identity and leaders.

Can't fault Grealish and Ake application today.

It's absolutely criminal we have failed to address the lack of creativity and pace in the team.
Dogshit lineup and tactics today. Grealish and mahrez cant beat men so lets leave them completely isolated whilst we pack the midfield to complete 3000 1 yard passes.

bang on with lack of pace. Weve got rid of all of it.

Signed haaland and alvarez and look less threatening than we ever have under pep, more willing to take risks in our own third than our attacking third says everything.

People shamefully scapegoating haaland - we'd be below dippers without him.
Probably only one of very few in that squad who you could say are nailed on to stay or good enough to stay.

Today only gives me fear for the Leipzig tie which our season hinges on now. Shameful state of affairs

Haaland must be so pissed off. It’s like Pep has told all our players not to pass to him.

Thought Grealish and Ake worked their bollocks off.

Playing Lewis on the left was a mistake. It didn’t stop the lad from trying.

He can be pissed off all he likes, offers nothing in terms of general play and can only affect a game if the rest of the team have managed to get the ball into the 6 yard box

We will never see Pep or City back at their very best while he’s in the team, Pep just doesn’t have passengers and he’s the biggest passenger I’ve seen for us under Pep

People wondering why we’re not moving the ball quicker, it’s cos a false 9 isnt also there as an option in the build up
That’s when we’re at our best and when Peps teams play best

Not creating enough in attack (this system is definitely not to play to Haaland's strengths), open in midfield and outnumbered in defence.

I could count the number of decent 90 minute performances on 1 hand, but poor performances/halves of football have far more frequent than they should be with this group & this manager.

I don't expect City to win every game, certainly don't expect a result against Spurs, but to be so poor after Everton had given us an opportunity is so frustrating. City are better than this and Pep needs to rethink how to get the best out of the team because this isn't it.

I dont think anyone expects us to win every year...but the manner in which we go about it matters. EVERY season it matters.

Ake Akanji Alvarez Lewis should not be keeping Laporte Diaz and Foden out of the team, no fucking way.

Dias has been getting back for a month.
Foden, it's 1 minor thing after another.
Laporte being messed around.

This pissing about behind the scenes is costing us the title.

Fuckin Spuds ffs.

As for the fucking referee.

Red card on 86, nothing then happens for the best part of 4 minutes and they stick 5 on.
Spuds player goes down with concussion a minute after the ball strikes his shoulder, wanker.

Disappointed with Bernardo too, in hindsight he should've been sold. Trouble is the team that want him have no fucking money.

If Rodri hadn’t made that fuck up that score wouldn’t have happened. We looked miles more up for it before that. It deflated us as it would any team. It’s just football. We’re not right atm but we’re no worse off than we were 3 weeks ago and have had our hard run. We’ve got to beat arsenal and they’re on their arse too atm. It’s the rags I’m a bit worried about
