Spurs (A) | PL | Post-Match Thread

Does Pep really believe he can get away with this shit time after time? Does he really believe the fans won't ever turn on him? If he does, then he needs a head wobble!

Fucking shit play, selections and lack of any direction...again!

Getting cute with the lineup at a place we haven’t scored a goal is absolutely hilarious. Haaland didn’t touch the ball one time in the box.
Not sure I understand your point. Firstly, we didn't get 'cute' with the lineup. It's the same system we've played for the majority of this season. Secondly, if we've never even scored a goal there, surely that implies that the 'normal' way of doing things doesn't work against them.

We have Massive problems. Every position on the pitch is a problem with time quickly catching up with too many players which the club have failed to address.

You don’t win titles with Akanji and Ake as your starting CBs and Rico Lewis as a consistently starting full back (left or right). You just don’t.

Pep is willing to toss off the season, because he is more interested in showing who is boss. Dias and Laporte watching on week in, week out. Cancelo booted out of the club.

Big summer ahead, if the attitude is that Pep is effectively all powerful, then that means half a dozen out and at least half a dozen in.

If we start next season with Ake and Akanji as our starting CBs, then this is the start of the end. Might seem dramatic, might seem over-the-top, but history tells us that dominance doesn’t last forever. Over the years, dominant sides have replaced their best players with others that don’t reach the same level and they slowly but surely start to move towards the pack. We are currently moving in that direction.

The game that needed no more motivation after yesterdays results and we sleep walked to a defeat.

Something has to give here, we are second and playing our worst football in the best part of a decade. I don’t know how that is, but we won’t be second for long if this keeps up.

We’ve been trash since Pep signed a new deal, I can’t tell if that’s a coincidence or not, but there seems to be a huge downturn in performance and energy out on the pitch.

Don't think ppl can blame Pep. Not sure we have a first 11 that could have done better. We are just having a tough season.

It happens. Can't win the league every season. And this season is likely one of those seasons.

Be good to see us get Dias and Laporte back in the first 11.

Not sure Lewis is ready for being played in every single game. Especially the big games. Ake should stay at left back.

Hopefully we refresh the team in the summer. The whole midfield looks shagged and out of ideas.

Just finish strong this season. 2nd in the league and a good run in FA and CL cups.

Thought we looked sharp until the Rodri pass, lost our way of playing the intensity has dropped we don't have a settled backline. And we have a striker who we don't know what to do with, Haaland is playing like he is in a counter attacking team and we're not setup for that.
Haaland didnt have anything to work with until KDB came on the pitch. Its not his fault

I don't think it's an overreaction to say we aren't winning the league this season the team don't want it enough yes there's loads of points to play for but can't see it, we need something other than this we are easy to play against

How would we have looked without Jack?
Kev looks absolutely shot - like Granny Shagger in his final season.
I think we need to take a serious look at our backroom staff, we pick up injuries to our CB's constantly and always look knackered, even after a rest. Add to that the zero improvement in set pieces and woeful decision making in the final third, is Pep too comfortable without an AM to push and question him

No creativity once again, Groundhog Day. Woeful at the minute, need a rebuild in midfield and please get our best centre backs back on the pitch.

It was a shit performance granted but we can’t win league every year we just need to qualify for champs league this season with a big summer ahead we will be back to pep standard again soon I’m sure. we need to keep the faith which seems fucking unbelievable to say with everything we have Done under PEP but some fans just panic like fuck

What I don't understand is, how the best coach in the world (which he is) can go onto a game, knowing whats coming, have the same mistakes for 4 seasons. He's got one one him atm and he needs to sort his head out

Ok…

Not good enough.

The balance and application is wrong. Before the goal we looked ok. My biggest gripe is that we don’t play like a pep team.

We don’t press
We don’t build up from the back
We don’t play with a back 4
We don’t have anyone playing the ball into haaland
We don’t have a settled defence
We don’t create chances

Now having said all that it’s clear we are not as good as the last few seasons. It’s ok to admit that without being called a ****.

Take the blue specs off and the team is broken. Players attitudes is not right for many reasons.

Need to stop all this title talk. Realistically our form suggests top 4 and if lucky a cup.

The dominant fast attacking, fast closing down and dominating games is gone. The buildup is a shambles.

Taking a year off like the dippers. Big summer ahead.

I love it when we integrate a young homegrown player but one of the big issues tonight was how they easily handled Rico - what is worse is that some of the older players should have seen it and stopped trying to use him to start every move. Spurs closed him down and that led to him not thinking clearly. We needed much more from Walker, Akanji and Rodders.

Positive was Jack who looked like our only threat. Erling is going to be getting really pissed off at the way we play, the lad makes a dozen fantastic runs every half and yet our players don't want to slip the ball through to him. It's ok for the manager to tell him to look at how Kane plays but man just look at how they try to pass early to Kane every time. If this continues he will not be a happy bunny no matter if he scores 40 goals - it's all a big effort.

No pace.
No creativity.

Grealish played well. De bruyne was good when he came on.
