Spurs (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I'll take any win at Spurs.

FOYS!

The match really showed how the team is being built around Erling. If he was fit enough to play the dippers we might have seen a different result with all those moves Doku created.
Possibly, although Haaland has been present for almost all of our stinkers this season. Us looking to attack quicker with Doku and Savinho should help Haaland, as long as the service is decent enough.

Our rebuild needs to be around Haaland, the best style of football needed to get the biggest impact from him.

Having re watched the game we had a good first half generally & should have been 3 up but 2nd half was full of errors tired legs & poor game management.

Spurs rested a lot of their players for europa league in first half & if they started from the start we might have been in trouble

Big 3 points but we were lucky to take the points maybe we are due some luck

That’s the point though

If the ref is not sure then allow the goal and let VAR deal with it

Ridiculous decision

The ref said ball hits hand but he can’t see it with players in front of him

The ball first hits Spuds player so is it then a pen for us

Always thought hand ball is hand going to ball not ball hitting the hand but the amount of rule changes who knows

Thankfully we won
That's the lunacy we have with the handball rule, a defender accidentally handles the ball & it's not a pen but an attacker has a goal disallowed for accidental handball

Nunez was targeted by Spurs in the second half when he was run ragged. He can’t defend. He is better going forward but his final ball is terrible. He did work hard though but he is just not elite level.
I'm not Nunes' biggest fan but their targeting of him didn't help them very much they got their chances down our left side. Thought he played pretty well yesterday.

ooo youve seen the game - any view on that Doku offside in the 2nd half? no replay was given on TV and i wondered what it looked like in real time.

Let's start at the beginning with the disallowed goal. He couldn't possibly have seen that through 3 players and especially through Erls hand/body. You cannot guess, and he did.
Saw what he wanted to.
I was in two minds to look at the footage to see where the whistling wanker was and how many bodies his x-ray vision had to penetrate, and then I just thought fuck him - with a blunted corner flag, flag removed!!

The initial contact with Haaland was above his sleeve. Ergo not hand ball.

There was no evidence that the ball hit Haaland’s hand/arm.

Surely the bar has to be that there is an offence, not that there isn’t an offence.

It’s a clear and obvious error.

Personally don’t agree, the ref got it badly wrong. But Devil’s Advocate, I don’t think there was enough evidence to overturn.

I couldn’t believe that either …. why did the Lino put his flag up? Surely you have to let the play continue to see what happens and then raise it?

The inconsistency of it all is infuriating.

Oh dear...#Specsaves

There wasn’t. Take the blue tinted specs off.
I’ve watched 15/20 times and it’s not conclusive that it did/didn’t hit a part of his arm.
As I said there’s no way VAR could rule that out. But the ref made the call.

If every goal was ruled out for that we wouldn't have a game.
