Spurs (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Pep must be leaving because this sort of shit doesn't happen with a hungry Pep
I would like to see the club come out and say Pep will leave in the summer and get this shit over with

He looks fed up .. he's spent money, but the cracks still show, and he's getting more and more frustrated in the performances ..... he's run out of ideas.

Our defence today was made up of a guy playing out of position (who's been excellent), a 21 year old, a guy making his second appearance and a guy who's barely played all season (although he can't defend), and then another guy playing out of position. I thought they did OK considering.

The first goal shouldn't count and the second, while not defended brilliantly, is a worldie.
I agree with what you are saying, that's why I've said "no matter who we play in the back four" mentally we collapse, even if it was Dias and Gvardiol today and we conceded I'd put money on it we'd conceded again.

We are a very fragile team and mentally weak and it's shown because it continues to happen.

If pep really thought that was a good performance we are in more trouble than I thought.
We have to be honest here.

Pep’s style isn’t working anymore. We are very predictable and we can only thrive when the tempo is slow and we are in control.

For me, he’s run his course and we need a change. He isn’t going to change. So the club has to.

If it’s any consolation (which it won’t be), twas an absolutely brilliant afternoon at the Etihad today (even with the empty seats …) which saw our women smash Chelsea to open up a 12 point lead over them and 11 points over united.

Really hope we can get that long overdue title heading our way this season :-)
No consolation whatsoever. Nobody gives 2 fucks about the women.

Poor in the second half but feel cheated having that first goal allowed. If that was any where else in the pitch (or if a red shirt club had that goal given against them), then a foul would have been given.

I get that we are obsessed by keeping the ball even though we don’t have the creativity ATM to do anything with it but when we need a win with a few minutes left, rather than pass the ball sideways and backwards and then give it away, I have a cheeky suggestion for our manager.

How about letting Semenyo chuck the ball on top of their keeper and perhaps creating a chance to score. We’re not Set Piece FC but we’re obviously not Plan B FC either. We had at least 2 opportunities to give it a go in the added on time but just kept doing what we had been doing all second half expecting something to change - the classic definition of madness.
Because the player prefers safe passes instad of taking risks and making long passes. The players don't fear the coach, they don't want to take responsibility, and they prefer accurate sideway passes even if the result is negative.

I said to my mate at half time that 2-0 might not be enough as our 2nd halves are just so pitiful. And it proved right, as soon as they got their first I think we all knew we weren't winning that game. Huge few weeks coming up, dreading next Sunday as I think we might get a pasting, but first off can we possibly find a way to fuck up a 2 goal lead against Newcastle. Hmmmmmmm

Yep, he was being fouled before and he was still being fouled as the ball was crossed and that's when he went down. I know a hell of a lot more than the basics, mate.
Haaland throws himself to the ground...the holding was before...test contact does not make a 6foot 5 human fall over....he was playing for it and deservedly got nothing

Was there a VAR image of the off-side shout for their first goal?
Looked like it was in real time and in the one quick replay shown,
but i can't recall a VAR image with the lines being drawn or even one of those soppy cartoon things.
Perhaps i missed it.
Var confirmed the goal so fast they didn't have time to do the line drawing technique thingy.
It was probably OK... that's how var works, isn't it?

The moment in the first half where cherki had 15 yds of space with no one near him, driving towards the penalty area...options either way and he tried a scoop pass that gave possession away...its that type of shit the Pep was talking about the other week. Cherki is on the pitch to ein football matches...not entertain by trying needless shit....

Be serious or fuck off
He was a worldly save away from scoring a brace. He also dictates play well, draws in the opposition and moves them around. Plenty of learning to do but he is delivering goals and assists week after week. There are far more deserving candidates for scrutiny IMHO. Starting with the big lad up front.

Sorry Gaz - it wasn't meant to come across as hanging him out.
Not his fault at all. It just makes more sense, to me, to play your 2 FBs who've played together regularly alongside a new CB pairing.
Pep's just been SO weird the last 18 months
Cool no probs, with what you said. Guess Nico has a lot to learn. But he is ours and a fucking good one :-)

Worst Spurs dude I’ve seen and we offer up this dross, after our first we sauntered around the pitch instead of beating them to death and fortunately got a second just before half time, same old City for the second half as all season knackered, devoid of ideas and fight, win the league I’ll be happy to finish above the rags at this rate.

Im

I'm not sure even if it's wasn't Pep we would be asking to sack a manager who has us second in the league and still in every cup competition in Feb. Do you really think we would or are you just talking bollocks to be controversial??
It’s not about sacking pep.

It’s about the apathy running through the club. Second means nothing.

The whole club has gone backwards through this rebuild. Maybe that’s to be expected and expecting more is not realistic.

Its the couldn’t be arsed attitude that gets me. Also pep wants to do more political stuff and probably find its weird coming from speaking about human suffering to go into the football bubble. I just think it’s run it’s course now. Yes we can get worse under another manager. Watching pep now it’s bit sad. Great man deserves more.

Donna. Superb
Oreilly. Having a poor time atm
Ran not good enough defensively
Nunez just ok
Berni past it now, caught out for pace but does try
Rodri injury has killed him too slow
Nico not good enough
Reijnders not top level
Foden lost confidence
Haaland has no service so looks disinterested
Semenyo and Guihi will be good
Cherki. Goo
Kusonov. Good

Always been glass half empty and not liking what I am seeting

Huge let off for Haaland there from you, you don’t need service to fight for balls and chase things down, someone next week needs to fire balls into him to get his first touch considerably better.

Nunes isn’t playing out of position at RB. He’s played there 100 times now, that’s what he is.

If you don’t think he’s good enough, say that.
