Spurs (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

We’re just not as good as we used to be. That period wasn’t normal. In normal football life this sort of things happen all the time. We’re not good enough to win the league. I think most of you here need to realise that and save the blood pressure. No point having a fit every time we’re average. We were utter wank second half. But we’re not invincible anymore. It was always going to happen. It’s life.

Thought the 2 goals we conceded were very unlucky but Spurs were poor today and we were fucking sloppy. We have to perform for more than half an hour in football matches or this will keep happening. Pep is too slow to address the second half drop off when Bernardo and Rodri tire and we cede control. Doku was a big miss today I felt. Semenyo apart from his goal had a stinker.

Not sure how we can justify calling Semenyos performance, he did score and he is new to the team
It’s just obvious he doesn’t fit Pep, but that performance was fucking horrendous and a free shot at goal to score doesn’t mask any of it.

So why is Pep allowing it to happen ? Pep of old would be smashing the dressing room up and giving the players the hairdryer, Pep is in the final stages of his days at Manchester City and the players have given up

I think it's coming this week ? Pep is to leave in the summer
I'm convinced he's gone this summer and the players know it. Performances are like those we got 10 years ago with a team treating the manager like a supply teacher.

Totally mate, we’ve lived the dream with pep, I never in my lifetime thought I’d see football like we’ve been so lucky to have witnessed, but we’ve become stale this last two yrs it’s painfully obvious yet pep does nothing to change things, I think this will be his last season & being honest I think it’s time for a change

I truly believe there will be life after Pep ? Manchester City are bigger than any manager
Will the new manager succeed? That will be down to us and the players,

I would love to see Mancini given another go with this squad of players

Nail on head! Can’t say the club have t invested in the last 12 months so surely it falls on the manager? Maybe even the new players can’t handle Pep and his possibly over the top management style?
The players we have "invested" in the last 2-3 years have not proven anything at the highest level. Spending loads means nothing if you spend it poorly and we dont need to pretend that we have signed a single world class player despite spending 500m (or so).
United have spent loads too, and I can see some similarities between their signings in the last decade and our recent ones. Looks very good on their day, folds immediately and looks useless as soon as something goes against them.
Nothing like the elite, consistent, mentally strong serial winners we used to have loads of previous years.

Well that has started off my Monday morning in NZ shite. Feels like a loss, compounded by a rags Fergie time winner. No chance on earth we beat the scousers at their place - we couldn't do that when we were treble winners let alone top 5 contenders. No shot on target in the 2nd half? Disgrace against their makeshift defence.
