Spurs (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I'm convinced he's gone this summer and the players know it. Performances are like those we got 10 years ago with a team treating the manager like a supply teacher.

100 Million percent Pep leaving in the summer
Dias nearly let it slip when he got injured ? He said we still have the project to fight for ???

This is the right time for the club to release the statement that Pep is to leave in the summer
it will bring everybody together and the players will have to show fight because the fans will want to send Pep on his way with silverware

Top 8 in the Champions League. The title is still definitely in reach if we pull our fingers out. Carabao Cup semi final (2-0 up), still in the FA Cup. Every team goes through a bad patch, Arsenal for the last few weeks, Liverpool in September, we have to keep pushing. Being negative is never going to help and some people just can't resist!

I’ve never been a negative fan, anyone who has seen my previous posts knows I’ve always tried to look for the positives. But this doesn’t feel like a short term blip. The performances have been stagnant for over 15 months, and we’re still playing exactly the same way we were last season.

We still look like a team that can’t sustain intensity for a full 90 minutes. A team that’s easy to play against, easy to counter. These problems didn’t just appear overnight, they’ve been present since Rodri’s injury last season and they’ve never really been addressed.

What makes it even harder to understand is the investment. We’ve spent close to £500 million, brought in younger, more physical players (so we can't use the ageing players excuses), yet the same flaws keep showing up week after week where we look absolutely spent in second half of games. These lads are professional footballers, they run for a living. It’s genuinely baffling.

Could be some truth in that based on performances. I also think some players (haaland) are looking toward the World Cup.
The more this sides regresses and keeps putting in performances like that second half then I can see Pep calling it quits in the summer. It looks so stale at times and so predictable and boring to watch. Players like Haaland have to shoulder some of the blame, but the bottom line is it stops with Pep. I absolutely see the possibility that this summer he leaves.

I'm actually envious when I watch other teams, making diagonal runs, swapping positions, really fluid and almost impossible to mark.
We attack in straight lines, everybody in his clearly-defined little box or channel. I bet the other coaches can't believe their luck - or the plaudits that continue to come Pep's way.
I said similar over a year ago and was shouted down with 'fanny-wipe - wait for the rebuild' or similar.

Still waiting...
Can’t disagree with this. We are piss easy to play against

Haaland is probably the best in the world 1 v 1 running onto the ball over the top - except he was heavy footed today..needed a deft touch.. He only got that chance because Spurs weren't bothered in first half and defended so badly...to high up, no pressure on the ball.. Haaland in open play is pretty dire really - he's scored a lot of pens, and we feed him non stop first half of the season - hence no goals elsewhere. Im sure Pep has never been that keen on a number 9...always more comfortable with floating midfielders arriving late in the box... im sure in his book when he retires he might allude to this....I like Haaland as a fella though, but your right the look is grating when he's having a laugh when we need to win... tbf even if we won today - were a million miles behind an organised and fit Arsenal...who are dull but very efficient
Love Haaland dont get me wrong and not his fault we didnt win, far from it, but have said before, once went 2 nil up he wasnt really needed anymore.

I think it's coming before the Liverpool game, if the truth be told
A statement this week by the club that Pep is to leave at the end of the season will relight the fire and fight
Feel sorry for a true legend. But we have been so poor in many games in the second half. Pep should hold responsibility for luck of fighting in the second half.

Or is it just being realistic.this team is nothing like a title winning team of previous years. We may win a cup but think that will be as good as it gets.
