Spurs (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

In the cold light of day I’m eating my breakfast in Thailand and perused this thread and can rightly understand the frustration of last night but I would have snatched your hand off for a draw at theirs. A win would have been a bonus and that point could make a big difference if the Tarquins fall off a cliff.
Not when going two nil up at half time you would've snatched their hand off for a draw

But it feels like the players are sulking when a decision goes against them, they need to leave the moaning to us and just get on with trying to win the game.
People on here moan when we say decisions go against us and the club say fuck all..now they say something and it's wrong..Rod was spot on with what he said

Yes we are, we are way more spread out now and playing much more direct than we have done, look at our stats for this season compared to any that went before. We’re pretty much playing a 424 at best most of the time, there’s been only a handful of games this season where I’ve seen us knowingly want to overload the midfield (which I wish we’d do more given it worked every time).

There’s clearly a reason we’re changing to that way of playing though and Peps hinted at it a few times. Personally, I disagree with him and I do wonder if he’s now reconsidering it himself, which might be causing some of the issues.
Disagree mate but respect your opinion.

The club should do their “moaning” behind the scenes through direct contact with Pigmol.

Players going on tv and crying about refs just makes us publically look like it’s getting under our skin. It makes us look like the dippers with their book of 1000 excuses. The same interviews and excuses we used to laugh at on here when Klopp used to give them.

We can make our point without airing it in public.

I would have agreed with a point being a good result at theirs but spurs were soooo poor we should have absolutely buried them in the first 45. We didn’t and a combination of a poor second half from us, shocking officiating and a massive slice of luck for them cost us the win.
Very frustrating.

I disagree mate..it needs airing publicly
We are being fucked over every game..we are reffed differently to the red shirted cartel..
Pigmol know it and probably think that we won't say fuck all..we need to.hightlight it every time and stop letting them get a free ride.

I feel like im on my own here, but i thought we played really well first half, they got a total fluke to get back in the game
I get what you are saying, but I think most people's frustration comes from our inability to put teams to the sword these days. If that was a boxing match, Spurs were on the ropes and should have been knocked out in the first half, instead we took our foot off the gas and allowed them to regroup at half time. We then slept walked our way into a draw, and it could have been much worse (the sort of thing we've done far too many times).

A spurs winner was in the back of my mind not long after the equaliser.Still that's a really annoying result after being 2 up.

Hopefully Dias comes back in for Anfield. I don't think we lose the game if he's on the pitch. it's no surprise our form since him and Gvardiol got injured against Chelsea has been poor, especially second half. As good as Khusanov has been I think Dias has got to come in alongside Guehi so we have have two proper leaders in the defence. Dias is the organiser and I don't think he allows us to draw that game yesterday in the position we were in

We drew mate, but it does feel similar to a loss the position we were in.

Lol, apologies for rectifying that, know how you feel. More miffed now than at full time yesterday. 2 vital points down the swanny.
just the manner in which we're doing it. i can't get my head around how different we've looked in second halves this season. in the last 6 games we've drawn 4, in 3 of those games we've been leading at half time. it's inexcusable and we don't deserve to win the league

Have you seen some of the performances and results over the last couple of years when Dias has been on the pitch?

The issue is more than single players, it's a collective attitude that shouldn't be impacted by one player being on the bench rather than pitch. It's also a system that means whoever plays in defence is constantly exposed whenever we lose the ball. That means those further up the pitch play safe to avoid losing the ball and we end up passing the ball backwards and sideways until inevitably giving it away.
