Spurs (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Have you seen some of the performances and results over the last couple of years when Dias has been on the pitch?

The issue is more than single players, it's a collective attitude that shouldn't be impacted by one player being on the bench rather than pitch. It's also a system that means whoever plays in defence is constantly exposed whenever we lose the ball. That means those further up the pitch play safe to avoid losing the ball and we end up passing the ball backwards and sideways until inevitably giving it away.
Can you name them? In the awful run between November and December last year he was injured. He's also been injured for this poor run too so I wouldn't say that was a coincidence? I agree there's an issue with the collective attitude of the players and that second half was totally inexcusable. I'm saying I don't think he allows us to crumble like that if he was on the pitch.

In the cold light of day I’m eating my breakfast in Thailand and perused this thread and can rightly understand the frustration of last night but I would have snatched your hand off for a draw at theirs. A win would have been a bonus and that point could make a big difference if the Tarquins fall off a cliff.
I’d normally agree with this but Spurs were so poor, particularly in the first half, and we didn’t go for their jugular. Really disappointing.

You'd snatch someone's hand off for a draw at the team in 15th place before the game? Is that a reflection of how far we've fallen or didn't you fancy winning the title this season. Arse won 4-0 against a team only a couple of places lower.

A spurs winner was in the back of my mind not long after the equaliser.Still that's a really annoying result after being 2 up.
I agree, we are becoming so predictable in both the way we play and how games will pan out. Most people can usually tell what's going to happen way before it happens. Yesterday, most seasoned blues just knew that game was not going to be won at the moment they scored, or maybe even 5 mins before it

The holding of Haaland continuously during corners was ridiculous.
For years I have thought that players thus targeted should wear a paper shirt, full of perforations. Holders would be left with the evidence in their hands.
(Only slightly tongue in cheek!)

Haaland needs to take himself away from these situations.
Get a run on defenders at corners and smash the cunts, whilst burying the ball in the net!
Haaland making a run at a corner? You’re dreaming!

Title race ?

It’s the hope that kills you.

Really poor second half from City. That said Spurs benefited from VAR for their first goal and their second had a huge slice of luck that the media will dress up as goal of the season.

It’s staggering how often we seem to concede worldies.

With the added bonus that the TV screens would soon be awash with semi-naked, well muscled young men, I think football would quickly attract a new, far more diverse demographic.

They’ve only won twice at home in the league this season, Spurs being a tricky away day doesn’t really stack up when the last time City lost in the league there was 3 years ago during the treble winning season. They were awful first half and couldn’t string two passes together, they had no options moving moving the ball forward which resulted in the walking paced football that happened for most of the first half. That was the opportunity to absolutely hammer them into the ground.

Instead the team came out in the second half not switched on and as soon as their first goal was given you could see City fucking it up.

Newcastle will still think they are in the tie on Wednesday with how brittle the team’s confidence is. A goal goes in and the heads go down with zero leaders on the pitch.

Forget about the league and look behind us as there are four teams in much better shape work rate and momentum wise which is worrying.

Mulled it over and watched the extended highlights again this Morning. Frank knew exactly where and how high up the pitch we would be as we (Pep) will not adapt the suicidal high line even when comfortably winning 0-2, he's literally letting Managers suss us in the first 45 every match as we won't/can't change anything.

Said exactly the same need to unpack the area and get runners into the box Erling is totally ineffective as it is

Pep Should know that second half Spurs would come out over commit players play with more aggression they were man marking pushing on all our fullbacks and backed up by winning all second balls! That situation that pep would not tell them to is we should clear the lines get deep keep it tight for 10/20mins don’t try and pass it around the back! When we won everything we had a better team but teams never ever over committed have half the team in our half it was like the first half all game near enough! For me Pep ain’t seeing that for me!

So he risked going down to a defeat in the first half to see Pep's plan Lets face it if their first goal had been rightly disallowed then Frank's plan would have failed

NOR fucks up twice in 5 minutes, and it costs, conceding promising plays to the opposition. You see, ignorance of danger and inexperience cost (remember Chelsea's equalizer?). However, I can name players, far more experienced, who cannot be satisfied with their performance tonight. Some of them came from the bench, maybe because they were not trusted to start anyway. Miles away from the required standard...
Where's the Executive Summary? haha

Nice user name. Scored a great goal for Brazil in 78

I disagree mate..it needs airing publicly
We are being fucked over every game..we are reffed differently to the red shirted cartel..
Pigmol know it and probably think that we won't say fuck all..we need to.hightlight it every time and stop letting them get a free ride.
I agree with you, but i think it would make PIGMOL just double down and carry on what they are doing.

Two immediate ones that spring to mind are Leeds at home followed by Fulham away. Whilst both ended up wins, we got ourselves into trouble from comfortable positions.
