I've heard a suggestion that they only checked the possible offside early in the move and weren't even aware of the foul as City didn't appear to complain about it. It explains things but doesn't really make sense as VAR often looks for any excuse to interfere.VAR looks at clear and obvious errors by the ref or things they missed
So, they decide that Solanke kicking a player from behind making no contact with the ball didnt fall into the criteria
We dont know their reasoning which is wrong VAR took 5 minutes analyzing the Semenyo goal v Newcastle Id would guess they dismissed the Guehi OG in seconds as nothing to see here
IMHO The ref missed it and no criticism from me for that VAR made an error to not refer it to the referee What is clear is the vast majority of neutrals think in their view it was a foul. Im not talking about the clowns in the media who toe the party line I have no interest in what they think
