Spurs (a) - Post Match Thread

I'd have been shocked if we had lost to Tothenham. They are a good team, but like most teams they are not as good as we are. This is a fact some of our folks don't understand. Sometimes, Pep included. :(

We really don't need to reshuffle for anyone. They need to resshuffle for us. :(
I was shocked when we lost (twice) to Liverpool and I was shocked when we lost to United. We're clearly better than any other team in England, so it's shocking to lose to any of them. Doesn't mean it's never going to happen though, so it's not crazy to be a bit worried when we play the better teams.

So, so proud. Not more I can say. They showed real backbone today and deserve all the plaudits. Well done city

They just said it in commentary, imagine the player Sterling will be when he does start getting more composure in the key moments, he's getting in the right place all the time which shouldn't be taken for granted. I think next season could be a big one for him with a PL medal under his belt.
I hope you're right mate. I'm a big fan of Sterling but sometimes I can't help thinking, if we had someone else in his place that could finish, we'd be better off. But he's improved massively since last season, so let's hope it continues. Fingers crossed he has a decent World Cup because his performance there could make a big difference to his confidence.

Thought Raz was outstanding tonight. He never missed a chance. Rather spurs were bang on deffending against him. Just a toe was all that was needed to deflect his shots. Cant wait for next season, the lad will learn off pep. He will end up our top scorer. Trust me.
Toes twice, Davies' leg, Dembeles strengh and the goal being too low and not wide enough in the 1st half but he didn't miss a chance. To be fair though he did have a good game last night and I do think he will be even better next season. Great result, it's nice to enjoy football again.

as tyler said class is permanent form is temporary, not many teams will control spurs on their patch like we did, it felt hairy at times second half but in hindsight they created little.

beggars belief why VAR has been shelved again by the premier league dinosaurs, 3 big decisions missed two certain red cards and our pen wasn't a pen

I could believe it but he did miss chances. He shouldn't give the defender a chance to get a toe on the ball. Not just him though - there have been umpteen "just hit it!" moments this season. We've squandered more good chances than we (and anyone else) have scored - and while they may fly over the bar it's often worth a pop.

He has scored 20 odd goals this season

I think that’s why, 2 Reds not given. Teams will have to stop the snide horror tackles otherwise very game will be 10-11 or less, not good for their product

Huge well done. Mentality spot on. That was a game we could easily have lost and if we had the media would have been at us like wolves hoping for a devon loch collapse. The workrate of the team was just fantastic. I thought Delph was bloody good as was Laporte. Raheem created so many chances with his movement and pace. He scared the shit out of them for the full 90 minutes. Its a shame the defence and Eddie weren't rewarded by a clean sheet - they deserved it. Was Kane playing? Even a defensive substitution from Pep. That had me choking on me crisps. Swansea should be a good party next week.

really didn't see that result coming last night after the tough last week, went to the pub to watch it,and for the first time ever it wasn't on because there was a private party on :(

great result, infact an amazing result, onwards and upwards.

Agreed. Wasn't very shocked at Liverpool away. Of all the teams we've played this season, they were the one team who really matched up well enough to bother us and disrupt what we do.

I still think we are way better, but I recognize their potential against us.

But yeah, United shocked me. I really don't understand how they are 2nd. Talk less beating us.

You need to look st the bigger picture regarding the last few games, end of season, fixture congestion, and a string of top opponents forced Pep into spreading his resources too thin in the Derby. ( I'd expect a few choice buys in the summer)
Not only were we undone by poor finishing, but some atrocious decisions.
City came to London and tore Spurs apart, Sterling could've had a hat-trick, and you'd struggle to find Harry Kane anywhere on the pitch he was nullified so well.
A blip maybe, but that was a fantastic performance away from home that should settle any doubts or nerves on here

Incredibly proud of the lads and pep.

Magnificent support too.
