I can't help but feel that the players just don't know what's going on. No way does a team collapse in under one year. No way, I'm not having it.

The problem is we're changing formations, moving players about and picking players who aren't in form. We DESPERATELY need to pick a system that works, put the right players in the right positions and just get back to basics. If one player gets injured, don't change the formation.

I don't know if Pep will be here next year, I don't think he will but hope he is. However, I think he's a lot to learn from this season. Other teams are figuring us out and, whilst he might not like it, it's time to change a bit. Our corners are nothing short of a disgrace. I genuinely wonder if we bother practising them. Taking a penalty isn't like taking a freekick from 35 yards out - smash it as hard as you can and the keeper just won't save it. It doesn't need to be placed 2 inches from the bottom right every time. Out defensive line at times is woeful - Son's goal sums it up. Couldn't quite see who it was but Otamendi didn't even try to get back to track Son even though he was a few yards away - sheer laziness.

I don't see any point in playing the likes of Otamendi as he simply is not good enough. Play Garcia and if he isn't good enough, or doesn't look like he will be good enough them sell him. It's staggering we have loaned out a left back a few months after buying him - he's simply not good enough. Gundogan is ok but not against good teams and we started Foden last year at home against Spurs but he's barely played since, it's crackers. Other players like Mahrez, Bravo (this clown should never play for us again) and Zinchenko aren't good enough sorry. Fernandinho is not a central defender.

We desperately need to get this season over and start making some big changes.

The signs are that Pep is not staying beyond next season and players know it just as we knew he was heading our way a season before he did. His Mrs and coach have already gone and we will know for sure if we fail to turn Madrid over. Luckily the club backers may have something up their sleeve as their wealth permits so I won't lose any sleep like I did under Alan Ball.

You never know about the Champions League. It's a weird one. Spurs for example. Their league form after January last year was awful and yet when it came to "big ears" they beat us - albeit with help - and Ajax to reach the final.

Meaning of the 48 chances missed over the two games, Spurs missed 2 and we missed 46 !

I love this team. Pains me to read the vitriol directed towards one of the greatest, most aesthetically beautiful football teams to have ever played in English football. Thanks for the heads up.

I can empathise with that view but things change. Teams need to evolve or you'd play the same team forever. Good management is changing things before they regress. We haven't done that for whatever reason. And sometimes it means selling players at their peak and making unpopular decisions.

The fact that we have no one in the entire team (Eddie excepted) that either cannot or will not take a penalty is a disgrace but not as bad as a professional footballer who takes a corner by passing it straight to an opposition player.
Today was not a one off, only last Wednesday we dominated but failed to score and our poor finishing is now becoming a major problem.

Right I am over it. This season league challenge was over months ago.
We arent a bad side we have 198 points and five cups the last two seasons no team has done that before , why, because it's a very tough thing to do.
I would guess a very tough physical and mentally two seasons, we look tired both physically and mentally this season.
I am sure next season we will be alot stronger both physically and mentally.
I believe one team is going to get a hammering before much longer and with luck give us a good end to the season.
